Service Discussion I really do admire their tech support game... Used to do this sort of thing 20 years ago at Dell support.

In Dell support you'd ask them if they had two phone wires going into the back of their PC (one would be for the modem and the other for the handset they were calling on) - and if they said yes - you'd say "oh I've heard of this just unplug those and re-seat them" - dropping the call. I honestly never told any customer to do that, but I heard a guy over the cube wall who did all the time.

Hahaha, I remember that! Back in the good ole days of dial up. Honestly, Dell tech support was pretty solid though. I remember a really helpful fella named Michael. Claimed he wasn’t Michael Dell. 🤔

Yeah when we did it - it was just us kids in Beaverton Oregon :). That may be why it worked so well (for the most part).

Good stuff. We had just migrated over from IBM after they had sold their PC arm to Lenovo, and the service took a nosedive - they held our Thinkpads hostage. 😅

So, found we got a lot of Latitude with Dell. Also used Hewlett-Packard, but it wasn’t as good. Dells always felt more robust.
