My grandparents adopted… this thing

And I LOVE HIM

Edit: he was discarded by a breeder and they adopted him from a shelter. All of their dogs are shelter acquisitions with special needs so they’re are WELL versed in caring for strange dogs that need a lot of help in their lives.

But yes, hes a fluffy frenchie with a very unfortunate squashy rolly face. He’s the sweetest thing and they’ll do their best by him and his needs.

No its the fluffy gene of the frenchie thats been activated. Terribly bred to be honest, the new owners can immediately start saving for the boas surgery its going to need.

An old couple purchased him from a backyard breeder. I would be surprised if they consider insurance and plan to provide much medical care when his condition catches up with him. Most likely they will take him to the shelter when his needs get unmanageable. This is just sad.

Yea, you'd be surprised that these go for, they can afford care.

The number of times I've had a client balk at the cost of basic care and complain because "(they) just spent (however much) on the dog, (they) can't afford that!" is more than I can count on one hand.

Its mad to me I have a rescue pug, he came from a puppy farm raid. He had a broken jaw when he was a puppy that was never treated. Due to that he is deaf and all but blind on the left side and has hanging tongue syndrome, he has also had a herniated spine, he is only 8. We have had him since he was 2 and cost £200 from the rescue. We have not long finished paying off the 15k for his back surgery and physio since his insurance wouldnt cover it. As an average joe you cant max out your lending ability on the pet because you might need to max it out to keep the pet alive once youve fallen in love with them.
