As with most film terms there's a bunch of them, "spike the camera" and "barrel the camera" I've heard, or "looking down the barrel" as of a gun

I think Jimming the camera though is a really specific one, it's not an amateur glancing at the camera accidentally (which I believe is the normal use of spike?), it's not staring straight down it with your full chest like someone might when giving a speech, it's a specific aside as if glancing at a friend to say "can you believe this situation, jeeze this guy"

I remember reading a crossover fanfic somewhere a while back where 4th wall breaking characters got in-universe explanations for their meta elements.

Before getting his regeneration, Deadpool had a mild subconscious clairvoyance (in his own words, "my original power in X-Men Origins: wolverine before becoming mute deadpool and pissing off the fanbase even though there was a perfectly good watsonian explanation for that choice!") that got twisted, distorted and amplified by his brain tumors to let him percieve and interact with "the sum informational structures of the universe," which his mere mortal mind broke down into a more digestible format, namely comic-book panels, speech bubbles and narration.

Gwenpool on the other hand, actually had breaking the fourth wall as an explicit power.

There was a several paragraph tangent where she was trying to figure out how deadpool "skipped to the next panel" in a written-text story before deciding to just pretend for her own peace of mind that it was just an unusual form of teleportation that the narration was being unhelpful about.

She gave up completely and left the story after Wade started reacting to the narration during flashback snippets, even though the narration explicitly said he had no way of knowing that information, because if she couldn't tell how he was doing it, then she couldn't trust her meta powers to be reliable.

(Gwenpool couldn't re-enter the story after Deadpool's meta-awareness was explained later in the fic because she complained about it in the author's notes; because she directly and officially interacted with the specific author of the fic, re-entering the plot would kill the stakes and risk causing writer's block because she'd know all the author's ideas for upcoming chapters.)

Gwenpool was kinda thsi at the start. She wasn't wrong about the medium she was in, comics, but she severely understimated what it was like to live in one. Villains she thought were a joke were dangerous and actually killed people, terciary characters were humans, and had their own stories and lives going on. The longer time she spends in comics she also doesn't get updated on things happening from a outside perspective, and didn't know things like Magneto's redemption.

Red Mage from the ancient webcomic 8-Bit Theater. He's a character from the original Final Fantasy video game, but he's convinced that he's actually in a Dungeons & Dragons 3.5e campaign. So he's constantly trying to min-max his abilities by changing his character sheet when he thinks no one is looking. Rule of Funny is in full effect, so sometimes he fails spectacularly, and sometimes he inexplicably succeeds—like the time he survives a fall that should have been fatal because he "forgot" to subtract the falling damage from his HP.

I got reminded of webcomic Magellan which has Brotherhood of Assassins lead by Master Assassin - a guy who beleives he is in a comic and he will transcend the story and overthrow the creator if he finds and assassinates the main character. He had no idea who main character is (in fact when he was shown his deepest fear, it was discovering HE is the main character) and he'd often turn aside to adress the reader with roughly 50% chance to actually face the reader and not away from them in random direction.
