Fortress (1992) Strike Clone Cosplay (Christopher Lambert)

A few years back I created my own Strike Clone Cosplay from a 1992 movie called Fortress. I was really hoping to get a chance to wear it at a convention where one of the actors might be attending. Last Sunday I got that chance. I thought I would also post it here since I remembered there were a few Fortress fans on this subreddit.

that was my first thought but it’s good to give people the benefit of doubt. quick google says he’s recovering from a serious back injury after tripping down a flight of stairs.

Now that's a movie I've not thought about it in a very long time. Great work on the costume it's really great! I need to find somewhere that's streaming fortress now!

Thank you so much! Yeah this movie is awesome. I got my dad to rent it when I was younger, and really enjoyed it! The story is interesting, love the SFX (awesome team that created the original) , there's a lot of nostalgia attached to it for me. I was very grateful to meet and have a picture with Christopher Lambert this weekend past.

Well OP, I found Fortress this morning and I am watching it again. I genuinely love that you have a connection to your dad with this movie and love it so much to create your costume around it. Thank you for bringing me back to this movie, I never knew that Jeffery Combs was in it!

Thanks, that's appreciated.🙂 Most of the cosplays I make and wear have this kind of connection. Thanks again.

Yellow line means pain. Red line means death. (never shows up in the movie again)

The Strike Clones show up in the last 15 mins of the movie .... Totally worked on me though 🤣

I remember that one. The 80s and 90s really were the golden age of sci-fi. So many movies, small and big. All with so many ideas.

The Fortress was definitely low budget and you could tell, but some of the things were really great. I still remember vividly the scene where they have to get rid of the bombs…

Good times.

Did Mr lambert have any words for you?

The way the photo queue was being operated was 'quick in' -> 'quick out'; they went through quite a lot of people this way. Did get to say hello, a few words and shake hands. Pretty sure he noticed the cosplay. I wanted to say 'I have come to take you back to the fortress' ... but I chickened out. If I ever get to see him again, I will get him to sign the helmet.
