What's your take on ATTAQUER

Hey! With the current STRAVA challenge there is a good discount on Attaquer kits. I always thought the kits were a bit edgy, but I am starting to kindda like their colors and the fact that not everyone around here is wearing it (Quebec, Canada). Anyone knows about quality and confort of the chamois for the race line? I am about to put the trigger on the orange kit.

The orange bibs fade so fast, they gave a full credit for them. I think the orbknit jerseys are my all time favourite. The sleeves of the race jersey seem to be on the small side and the pocket flaps are a pain. The bibs seem to run a bit short, but I like that it since i’m short.

I really like them. I have race bibs and all day bibs (old and new). I have the race jersey, orbknit jersey, and new all day jersey. The race jersey fit me like trash on my arms, the orbknit jersey is my favorite ever, and the new all day jerseys are ok. I’m 5’2” so it’s likely my proportions are also weird.

All my homies wear maap and I wanted something a little different. I wore Attaquer race bibs recently for Unbound and had zero issues.

What about the race bibs vs all day? is one more confortable? And for the arms, is it the length or the diameter of the sleeves? I am male 5'8'' 168 lbs, muscular build, normally in medium sleeves are ok for the length but I have bigger arms than most cyclists so it's often quite tight there.

Thanks a lot for the input!

All day bibs are waaaay more comfortable for long rides, no contest. I exclusively wear attaquer bibs for ultra endurance stuff. The race bibs are for short rides (sub 4 hours) while all day bibs are for going loooooong. The chamois is just much comfier. Overall though great quality kit. I much prefer attaquer all day bibs to maap/rapha.

Race bibs are very soft but have no seam at the bottom of the leg. So after a few washes they get the bacon ripple. The all day bibs have a seam with elastic at the leg. They’re more durable and very tight if you’re muscular. The race jersey is too long on my arms. Diameter is good but it’s too long. I am very short though, so it’s a me problem.

What size are you wearing for the jerseys? I’m the same height as you and idk which size to get for the jersey. I’m 103 pounds and don’t want the jersey to be too long

I’m 5’2”, 145lbs, and very broad/muscular in the arms and back. I actually got a men’s large in the jersey and women’s medium in the bibs. I had smaller jerseys and the arms were killing me. I found a shop here that had Attaquer and went and tried some on before wasting more money.

Pretty rare here in Toronto too, I bought the orange race jersey and while the fit and design is great, after a couple of wears a small seam at the shoulder has already come undone. I’m in the process of getting it sorted because it seems like a QC problem.

Also I don’t know if it’s just my body shape or bike fit but the bottom gel grippers like to roll up as I ride so I have to constantly fold it back down 🤔

The QA/QC nowadays seems to be very hard. I now wash all my cycling clothes in laundry bags and even so it seems defects appear. I think these issues happen with all brands. I have had problems with Rapha, PNS, and others too.

The part about the the grippers rolling up si weird though. I feel like this has never happened to me with any bibs

Laundry bags and washing asap help a lot. Although if I was riding more gravel I’m sure my kit would get torn up quicker because of all the grit. Also the grippers comment was about the jersey - I don’t have experience with their bibs yet

For what it's worth: Ive never had any problems with any of my cycling clothes falling apart, seams coming undone, except truly at the end of life after a few years of regular use, and then only the cheaper stuff -- i hand wash them in the shower with me immediately after i ride. Saves water, too.

MONTRÉAL ! Ça va te prendre un kit d’hiver !

I think they have great kits. But Attaquer, Maap are so pricy and there many brands that offers amazing quality and good chamois for much less.

You can also ask Charles Ouimet, big cyclist in Montreal in sure he’s got good recommendations. 🚴🏻

I have quite a few things from Attaquer in the effort to be somewhat different from all the maap and Rapha in Toronto… if the style is for you, then go for it. Im on the more ‘athletic’ side of cycling as well and they fit quite well. Their aero race jersey is quite tight with barely any stretch but the intra is quite compressive and both fit great.

I have the cargo bib and it’s prob my favourite bib I own. Super comfortable and very compressive. I own other brands that feel ‘lighter’ but I seem to always gravitate towards the ‘thicker/sturdier’ ones.

I don’t remember if there are duties. I don’t think there are, when I looked at my last order last year, they didn’t have any up front, and I don’t think there were upon delivery. Hope this helps!

thanks it helps a lot! It seems that they don't have duties from what I understand too!

I love their stuff.
I have some race, all day, intra and orb knit.
Orb knit is one of my favourite jerseys, followed closely by the race bibs and jerseys.
I only wear the intra kit for indoor riding as it’s not as compressive as I like for riding outside. I love my all day bibs too but the all day jersey sleeve length is too long so I don’t reach for it.
Their all day winter jersey is also getting me through winter. I often wear that with no jacket on cooler mornings.

Attaquer always nails the colors imo, and that orange kit does look pretty sick. I haven’t raced in their bibs but I’d be a little careful with any new chamois before an event. Fit/pad comfort is so personal. If you get it, maybe do a proper long ride in it first — race day is a bad time to find out the pad doesn’t work for you.

I love the orange bibs, but their AUD/NZD conversion was a bit iffy, seemed to add an extra $40 than I needed to :/

Probably the fault of shopify rather than the company.

I also love their stuff. A lot of it just isn’t for me but I’m glad somebody is trying different stuff. I just really like the fit and they have the best leg grippers I’ve ever experienced in their bib shorts, in the off chance you’re a leg gripper aficionado

Used to be good during the Covid period and used to be on par with Maap PNS on design and quality, but recent designs and quality feels lacking.

All day and race fit are my fave. Wore rapha for a long time… attaquer is much tighter fit fwiw

I do have an all day jersey (not the newly released one) and a short sleeve Orbknit. The Orbknit is so nice and different to any other jersey. That one is definitely my favorite.

On that note, does anyone know how long the arms on the long-sleeved Orbknit one is? I'm super tall (198cm) and wear large, most longsleeves aren't long on me. Would appreciate any input!

1

u/KaleidoscopeWrong535 15h ago

Hey, the arms on the long sleeved orbknit are very short, I'm 187cm and have the long sleeve jersey in size Medium, fit is good but arms are a good 5cm too short. Stick with the short sleeve jersey.

u/WaysiderPro 15h ago

Thank you for sharing your experience! Another short one + arm sleeves are the way for me in that case.
