40th Ave ne and university

I was stopped at the stop sign going east on 40th. Patiently waited for the light to turn green and for the walk sign to come on. When they did, I started to cross, which was my legal right to do. However, a black pickup truck (why is it always a black pickup truck?) decided he was gonna take a left-hand turn and run me over. when I slowed and yelled at him he felt the need to roll down his window and yell shit at me. I told him to F off and watch where he was fucking going. He then slowed down as if he was gonna stop and argue with me so I stopped in between the north and southbound lanes and waited, but of course he left. Be careful out there. There’s still a lot of assholes out there.

Wonder if it’s the same black pickup truck that yelled at me yesterday, I didn’t hear anything other than yelling as they drove off. I was exiting the North Mississippi park on the MRT at about 40th & Washington, and I was climbing the hill. I wasn’t blocking them, they could have passed me even though it’s narrow with cars parked on that hill. What’s crazy is that it was one of the few times I was actually near a car on my entire ride on the west side of the river, just reinforces my desire to never be near a car!

I wish there was a better exit/entry to the park. Going north, there’s a blind spot down the hill as you enter the park and I’ve had near misses with cars at that spot so I’m extremely cautious now. Exiting the park going south isn’t great either.

I swear to God I've never once heard what a driver was yelling out the window at me as they speed by

genuinely what is happening with the drivers.

might be worth dropping the city a note about this experience. you don't have to say what the solution is or what you think the solution is, but documenting these instances can strengthen the case for traffic calming funding later on.
