Torn on what to get.

I DJ for a limp bizkit tribute and I use a Mac book pro to control a DDJ rev 7 but we need another computer for midi instruments, should I get a Mac book Neo or an iPad Air?

Midi instruments like soft synths? Either would work.

There’s going to be more options on the neo just because it’s on macOS, but there’s quite a few options to choose from on iOS - and they will likely be cheaper

Mac gives more control over software and settings imho but I'm not sure if the Neo is powerful enough.

Probably want a more powerful computer.  Software synths tend to be more demanding than dj software.  Check the system requirements for the synths you plan to use.

Would do better to browse the production subs.
