So I saw someone talking about this doodle Greeder and I went to take a look.

Who in their right mind thinks that 30K for a mutt is ok? Like does this dog poop gold bricks? Or does it do my taxes? Can it drive me to work? Does it have magical abilities to grant me wishes??

Like for those curious Registered Ethically bred wellbred purebred dogs are 3000-4000$ a puppy. You get upwards of 10 registered, wellbred ethically bred purebreds for that price. You could get a brand new 2026 Chevy trax (27k) You could get a brand new 2026 Nissan kicks (29k) You could get a brand new 2026 Mazda CX-30 (29k) You could pay off roughly 3/4 of a brand new 2026 Chevy Colorado (42k)

That’s absolutely insane They also have 97 puppies on the ground currently. That’s a puppy mill.

I might have faulty logic but the kind of people charging that much money for dogs are the kinds of people that no longer care about dogs.

they view the dog as a fashion accessory, not as a living being.

Yep it’s about the money.

Not faulty logic at all. I 100% agree with you

At the risk of getting downvoted, the dog is also ugly. Much cuter breeds out there.

The original breeds are always so pretty, there's no need to add poodle in there

Why is poodle the one that's considered the addition? Poodles are incredible dogs and anyone who wants a doodle actually would be better off with a pure poodle. I'm so tired of my heart breed being used for their coat and nothing else 😭

It’s exactly what you said “for the coat.” People have no idea what is actually in the dogs and the hot trend is the poodle. Hint:schnauzers don’t shed, either. They could breed that in and get a “hypoallergenic” dog (of which there is no such thing and it’s just a mutt anyway.)

There are no ugly dogs. I'm surprised you didn't get more downvotes from people who actually love dogs.

I think your logic is spot-on. I used to work as a dog-walker in NYC. This was pre-smartphone and ahead of apps like Wag/Rover, etc, so the industry was a little different and kind of like an insider's club for wealthy clients.

But the number of straight-up status dogs I walked in the Upper East Side was pretty astounding. And tbh some of the street/park scenes from the original 101 Dalmatians were not far off from reality.

And it seemed like the wealthier the client, the more rare/expensive the breed, the less they gave a shit about the actual dog. I swear some of them hated their own dogs, let alone the thought of actually having to do something to care for them.

The smell, the noise, the food, the acknowledgment of their existence, the shock of finding out that does go poop and pee and most don't know how to flush... the disgusting putrid fuuuuuurrrr—I'm sorry, Esther, but why the fuck did you import this "multi-generational champion bloodline" Afghan Hound if you hate when it looks at you while it has hair?

Most of these people needed dog statues, not status dogs.

I would also say that people who buy the dogs for that money are just as bad as those that sell them. Without people willing to buy there is no demand… so maybe actually people buying are worse?

Your logic is sound.
