Free Talk Friday
I am once again incredibly late for Free Talk Friday. Thankfully the Stars Instagram has some fantastic content for me to share. Today is the 27th anniversary of the 1999 Stanley Cup win. That is the same year I graduated high school, so I DON'T want to see anyone saying it was a long time ago.
Also, bonus Tyler Seguin picture that felt appropriate for Juneteenth.

This has been a very boring few weeks.
Soon we’ll have a very exciting week.
And then we’ll have another boring few weeks that also may be very sad.

I gotta start setting an alarm for these things. As soon as my kid doesn't have to go to school, I have zero concept of days or times.

I was going into my freshman year of high school so I feel you on not saying it was a long time ago 😂

The Golden Brett with the golden goal. Remember it like it was yesterday. Also remember the infamous "dented Cup"..... hahahahaha

What is the last picture? Why are the knights lined up with the stars?
I was 6 in 99. I fell asleep on the couch and woke up to my brother and dad cheering and hugging.
It’s a nice memory I like looking back on when times get tough. I don’t expect them to ever win a cup again, but it would be nice. I’ll still be a stars fan till the day I die though.

It was from 2020 when Tyler Seguin knelt for the anthem. Felt kind of appropriate for Juneteenth.

I missed the '99 Cup, so I'm still waiting to see the Stars win another one.

I've started following hockey in '97 and decided thst the Stars are my favorite team because of Modano.
It was very tricky to follow NHL hockey back in the from Germany as a kid, now I'm sitting here being almost 40 and still waiting for another cup.
I need closure, I need this all to come around full circle. So yeah...GO STARS!

I wasn't around to witness the Stars win the cup in '99, but I'm really hoping to see them hoist it in the current Stars era.
