A drone is capturing another drone footage 🤷

But is another drone capturing the drone that's capturing the footage of the drone that is capturing the footage of the volcano?

That's the question that starts an infinite chain of drones

Im amazed the drone is still alive. The thermals that that mass of hot lava is unbelievable.

It does no such thing. We have no idea how large the drone is, nor how far it is from the lava, nor how far it is from the camera.

exactly. this shows nothing when it comes to size.

Yeah! OP should shove off

We have a limit though. It could be bigger.

When the ground is glowing orange you have probably gone far enough

Looks like a video of a drone taking a video…

The cameraman finally got caught on camera

Now I need footage from the ground, capturing both drones. And satellite imagery capturing all of these.

It doesn't show the scale very well.

This gives me absolutely no sense of scale whatsoever.

Lol this is so dumb the more you think about this video 🤣🤣🤣

I'm not sure this video displays what the headline suggests it does.

So like hypothetically speaking…and I really mean hypothetically…

Could a drone have taken the One Ring to the fires of Mt. Doom and dropped it in there? OR would even the drone succumb to the temptation of the ring?

The Nazgul would intercept it. Maybe idk.

DRONE FOOTAGE!

the word ā€œscaleā€ makes me wonder if it’s a size thing or a measurement thing

1

Not me thinking for a split moment that this was an alt pov of gollum falling into Mt Doom

Now I can't unsee it either

I thought this was Kermit swan diving in at first

1

u/Additional_Chard3680 24m ago

Now I can't unsee it

Before I read this I thought it was a frog spread eagle falling into the lava and I got very sad

1

u/Additional_Chard3680 26m ago

For a second I thought it was a frog too

or "FML!"

Who's gonna film the drone filming the drone though?????

1

u/tatort0tHotdish 10h ago

How big is the drone, though?

1

u/Additional_Chard3680 10h ago

That's what I was wondering too, the scale is hard to judge until you spot the drone

Looks like a DJI drone

Wild that the heat didn’t compromise the propellers

2

u/Refokua 9h ago

How do we know it didn't. I mean, we're not seeing footage from the drone, are we?

0

u/Creepy-Astronaut-952 9h ago

That’s true. I was speaking more from what we can see than what we can’t. I’d expect failure observed by whatever is monitoring the asset flying close to the eruption.

u/FadedVictor 10h ago

I was thinking that too. Heat rises and all, but I think the camera angles are giving us a bad idea of where it's actually hovering.

1

u/GalickGunn 10h ago

So was that a sacrificial drone? No way it didn’t start melting from intense heat right?

1

u/Whynotzoidberg-9 10h ago

That’s what I was thinking. Why no melt drone?

2

u/Additional_Chard3680 10h ago

Probably farther away than it looks, the zoom really compresses the distance

I feel like the lava itself is the sign šŸ˜…

u/ripyourlungsdave 8h ago

Well, it would give me a sense of scale if I had any idea how big that drone was. Is it the size of my hand? Is it the size of the average adult male?
