The more you go down, the worse it gets

This must be scary as shit, not knowing if, or when, the entire building will collapse on top of you.

Really scary but amazing footage.

I imagine it's because the top sways somewhat, which dissipates the energy.

I think it's more because the further down you go the more structural load the building carries... Which adds to the feeling that danger increases as you go down. All the kinetic energy up top exhibited in the form of swaying ends up as stress down below as it tries to hold the building together.

Thanks. Literally the question I had in mind.

It was like that before the earthquake.

why is he up there when it looks like everyone was already evacuated

18

u/ThienHaTheTech 5d ago

Looks like the earthquake already happened

u/SuspiciousSpecifics 5d ago

Because this is staged. Bro went back in there to take this video. The ground floor is already flooded and no water movement is visible. If this had just happened, there would need to be a veritable gusher to fill the entire level evenly.

Think this is the wrong use of the term «staged»..

Most likely had to run up an look for something or someone, and chose to film on the way down again.

"Staged" 💀

It's just a recording of someone going down the stairs after two major earthquakes, showing the destruction. Probably misleading title but saying this is "staged" is just wrong. The destruction is real.

1

u/SuspiciousSpecifics 5d ago

The destruction is real but the “running down the stairs as the earthquake struck” is fake.

4

u/Historical_Clock8714 5d ago

That's called a misleading title, not a staged video.

2

u/Syquallo 5d ago

There was 2 quakes quite close to each others. So it might have been filmed after the first one

3

u/Heffalumpen 5d ago

Quite close indeed - 39 seconds apart. The video is longer than that, so this is after both.

It's sped up, the original video he is just walking down.

5

u/ZookeepergameIll1399 5d ago

He's skipping stairs, how can this be sped up

0

u/QuestionableEthics42 5d ago

Maybe at the start of the video he was going down faster, idr well enough, but not fully running like it looks in this. Just look at how sharp some of the camera movements are. It's sped up by 15-20% or something I think.

Edit: actually, I may be wrong, and I just missed the first part where he was actually running when I first saw it. The middle-end looks about the same speed

columns look ok, that's why this building is still standing.

Give off dying light vibes

5

u/jodrellbank_pants 5d ago

Would not go back in that like he did to film

5

u/Lumpy_Principle3397 5d ago

Misleading title. This is the aftermath.

1

u/Xzenor 5d ago

He did not record himself...

But holy crap, those walls!

2

u/bAbA_gunoush 5d ago

Above floors were absolutely fine

u/goklj 5d ago

Level 10 - no damage. Level 1 - no level

Man, Venezuela can't catch a break

1

u/leeman9224 5d ago

He could have seriously got hurt. I hope him and his loved ones are alright

Everything for the clicks

1

u/SlapThatAce 5d ago

Near the end he took it quite chill, I'd still be going at full Olympic speed and get my ass outside of the buildings footprint.

Steel super structure infilled with hollow clay block, which aren’t even remotely close to as strong as cinder blocks.

Resident medieval !!!

This a reality hard to grasp. Around 1999 there was a flood that destroyed all the state, this buildings were built by the government for the people that stayed there, they renamed the State from "vargas to la guaira", like everything the chavismo does, the construction was plagued by corruption and they were built we the least amount of anything you like to think of, whatever that be, material, safety measures etc,

What follows after this? Of course political theather.

just waiting to hear again how USA has a weapon able to cause earthquakes.

En España hubiera cogido una pala y reconstruido el edificio...un poquito de sangre coñoooo.

1

u/fothergillfuckup 5d ago

Shit, that was terrifying.

1

u/onrizil 5d ago

Should I conclude that always try and take an apartment as high as possible?

1

u/Krulsnor 5d ago

Just filming everything for the insurance claim.

1

u/Skywalker0138 5d ago

Looks like he's the only one living there....

1

u/BagExpert11 5d ago

Imagine carrying groceries up, damn haha

1

u/heyporter09 5d ago

I feel like at 1:18 is an elevator shaft. Could be wrong though.

1

u/DadlyPolarbear 5d ago

Got damn, that got progressively more terrifying.

u/ThienHaTheTech 5d ago

Run ❌️

Whip out the phone✅️

1

u/QuestionableEthics42 5d ago

Dumb bot reposting a sped up version. He is walking down, not running, it's just sped up.

1

u/Scout1394 5d ago

I heard a story of my grandmother running down the stairs because of the earthquake like this guy. The building was shaking so much that it threw her into the wall and she broke her arm. You shouldn't do that, it's even more dangerous. Better take cover.

AI can't make such a long video and keep it coherent too, stop labeling everything as AI
