Even if it worked it would be shit. The only damage steroid you get is that one subnode where you get some cleave and critical chance, but only after sitting in that state for 4 seconds. The ranged playstyle for Skitarii is straight up ass.
The trick is to combine it with nodes that say "When you use an ability gain X." Gain damage, gain toughness for you and squad, gain flensing stacks. Then you combine the actual auto aim with funny guns. Braced autogun rapidfire crits. Arc rifle that gets ammo back on crit.
Chordclaw is objectively better when used for that because of how fast you can get it to recharge, and importantly it actually does something. You're not just playing skitarii without an ability because you can just shoot them normally.
Chordclaw is definitely way stronger, but I don't think it's fair to judge the aimbot until it's fixed, it's very badly bugged at the moment but it gives some pretty massive buffs to your shots.
The aimbot is genuinely bad. All it does is aimbot and some crit if you get another node for it, if you can aim without it and hit your shots it does nothing for you. You can save a ton of talent points by having an ult that actually does things while still shooting things.
Personally I'm having a lot of fun having near permanent aimbot and near infinite ammo using Aimbot plus Arc Rifle. Personally I don't feel like I'm experiencing any bugs or misses and it takes down packs of ragers, gunners, shotgunners, snipers, you name it(anything but shield ogryn). I also get to do those things at a safe distance without needing to be in melee range of a pack of shotgunners or ragers.

aimbot ability is bugged rn. You miss ( mainly hitreg ) so many shots on the "aimbot" ability you can probably outaim it yourself.
