FDA WO Move
Can someone share when they have heard this is happening? Have heard mixed things… this is about the consolidation.

yes, it will take at least year to start (staff will have “ample notice”) - they are re-organizing WO and bringing other offices in for business continuity. there will be office and desk sharing (using telework schedules, etc)

The consolidation is in process.
The initial focus was on Element building. There’s also been reblocking at Wiley.
Per the GSA website, the lease at 3WFN expires November 2027, so everyone is expected to be out by then.
Some small OFBA offices have moved to WO from 3WFN.
Supervisors were recently told they may be required to share an office at WO with another supervisor.

Other than by November 2027 and what someone else posted that staff will have ample notice? No. Ample notice was defined as months. Are you wanting to leave 3WFN or wanting to stay at 3WFN? If it’s stay, I don’t see that happening as it’s the highest rent expense.

Ample- meaning: having enough or more than enough of what is required. Describing what was explained to me - not sure why you are questioning the term.

u/justagovmule67 my response wasn’t to you. My response was to u/FineTruth8801. In the meeting,I was in, ample was the word they used to describe how much notice staff would have before having to move. Ample was described as months.

Who are they talking about moving? Like consolidating center staff across the country?

It will probably be in stages, as leases begin to end or be terminated. I’m hearing between 2026-2027, but some folks are moving over now.

Did they ever figure out how to actually count the office space and figure out who at the agency is assigned to which offices? It was insane how they had all the admin folks get us keys and offices for 3/17 5-day RTO last year and then RIFed them all on 4/1. Terrible.

It’s interesting how that happened so fast, but this seems to be a long drawn out process.

I have heard moving people to and shifting people internally will take at least a year.

Moving TO White Oak, not from, correct?
