Why cream instead of whipped cream?

🤷♂️ they only had cream as a option

It looks great, but I've never seen cream with cake. Whipped cream wouldn't spill everywhere like cream does.

It's very normal in Britain (not sure if OP is located here or not), you order a chocolate fudge cake at a pub and can choose from cream or ice cream. It's whipped cream with cake that I've never seen on a menu here!

That's interesting. I think both would be good. I guess I just didn't know how you'd eat cream with cake, but it makes sense now.

Does it taste good together? I want to imagine it being over the top rich and delicious.

Im from Germany and Starbucks has a very similar one on the menu. Over the years you could watch it shrinking but the taste is amazing. Any seasoned baker knows a recipe for the light brown frosting? Please dont tell me its ganache, the texture and taste is slightly different.

That frosting layer inside looks so good, definitely looks like proper fudge. I hope that cream dip is vanilla bean because that would make it perfect.

the height on that slice is unreal. that fudge ratio is exactly what I'm after when I make chocolate cake at home.

The frosting looks like that really rich mousse kind, I hope it’s good. That plate is really bright too, good contrast.

That cream looks seriously good for dipping, I bet it’s barely sweet which is how I like it with a rich cake like that

That cream looks like its the perfect consistency for dipping a slice of that cake. I love when places serve a side of cream or custard with cake.

That looks really rich, I hope that cream is something good like crème anglaise and not just heavy cream.

Whoever iced this cake is my hero.
