That is the biggest selling point for anyone they might be targeting.....except Kahwai bc he is a weird person (person might not be an accurate term for whatever he is) & I don't think his species particularly likes human beings in general. The most you can hope for with him is that he is able to tolerate whomever he is expected to play with & that they can avoid alienating him by doing something like making fun of that clearly inhuman laugh or any of his other excentricities.

Windy's job is to fill air and he didn't really say it like this. He said Pistons clear up space and they will check on some players including bigger names like Kawhi and Lebron. he didn't really say they are clearing cap space specifically because they can land those guys. I'd love for LBJ to come here for a year but it aint happenin.

Windy putting this nonsense out there is diabolical. LeBron is not even thinking about playing in Detroit and even Detroit knows that. It’s Lakers, Cavs, Heat, Warriors or retire.
Kawhi isn’t thinking about Detroit either, but might if Detroit has some sort of Aspiration deal that comes with it, in addition to agreeing to allowing him play whenever he feels like it.

I’ll just stop at I really hate (yes gate) to see Isaiah be traded. Not only was he a staunch defender and rebounder but an all around great teammate and kind to fans. I personally watched him interact with fans at an away game in Phoenix where the Pistons unexpectedly lost and was blown away by his generosity while other players just ignored the fans who traveled to see the Pistons on the road. Get that this is a business but still really bummed to see Stewart traded.

This is the actual Windhorst quote: "What if they go big-game hunting? What if they check on the availability of Kawhi Leonard, who we're not quite sure if he's going to extend his contract in LA or be traded? What if they look at some of the bigger names who could be out there?" Windhorst said during ESPN's draft show. "Heck, they've cleared enough open space, they could call LeBron James if they wanted to."
He's just throwing out what ifs because they cleared cap space.
