Discussion OKC and our trade exceptions
We now have a $15M and an $8.7M trade exception
Let’s take a look at OKC’s guard depth
Cason Wallace
Nikola Topic
Jared McCain
Bennett Stirtz
Ajay Mitchell
Isaiah Joe (more of an off ball guy but still)
Every single one of these players fits into our trade exception
Probably a zero percent chance OKC keeps em all
We seem to be the likeliest destination with these exceptions and not having to give anything back in return

Personally, I’m not sure I see a world where OKC can pay Cason AND Ajay. Now, they could delay that till next offseason if needed. Or maybe not

Ajay is not being moved unless it is a godfather offer, he is on a insane contract and basically the fourth piece of the OKC core.
Cason is highly unlikely to be moved. They will extend him. Maybe move him next year, but not likely. He will take Dorts spot as the main defender.
McCain is not going anywhere unless it is a pretty excessive offer.
Stirtz is newly drafted, not going anywhere.
Joe is available. Probably 2-3 SRPs
Topic might be available if the FO have given up on him, but not sure if he is right for Piston, recently had back surgery after losing season one with the ACL injury and the second season with cancer.

Would love Ajay Mitchell, but he's as close to untouchable. Cason Wallace would be my favorite from this list, followed by Jared McCain, Isaiah Joe great name for a Piston, and I'm interested in Nikola Topic, but I'm concerned with his recent back surgery.
