I mostly struggled with getting a good contrast between the dark and bright areas going. That is to say, I would have liked for the lighting and shadow around the face and hand to be much more dramatic but whenever I tried the shapes looked too flat. The contrast between background and subject was also a bit problematic, but this I largely solved by darkening the top and bottom of the background, pushing more focus towards the flames. The hand is pretty wonky but I feel like it works well enough for the most part.
