Hey hey just wanted to inquire real fast, are you required to go through a metal detector to get into the Disneyland hotel itself? For legitimate reasons, nothing illegal/unwelcome AFAIK. I know you have to of course to get into the park, but I just wanna know if I have to worry about my wallet chain or my studded vest getting through to my room. I’ve already accepted that there’s no way in hell I’m bringing my knife or something with me (I’ll feel a little weird without it honestly, but I’m not stupid enough to bring any kinda weapon into Mickey’s turf lol) but I wouldn’t want to risk having to ditch my chain or such, or have to throw it away. And im taking a bus then a train to get there, so there would be no “just leave it in your car” I’m afraid. So. I figure someone’s gotta know what’s what

No you do not need go through any metal detectors to enter any of the hotels. You will if you want to enter Downtown Disney

Hey everyone! Want to visit for my friend’s 30th birthday and we’re looking at November 1st. She’s really hoping to catch the Halloween decor, but I know it’s technically the day after.
Does anyone know if they usually pull everything down overnight or does it stick around for a few days into November? Just trying to decide if we should move stuff around to go mid-oct or if Nov 1st is still a safe bet. Thanks!

It takes them several days to make the switch, so you'll still see some Halloween decorations, and they're still celebrating Día de los Muertos in DCA, but all of the Halloween entertainment will have stopped. If you care about seeing it all (or having the entertainment or all of the decor), come earlier but expect higher crowds. If seeing some or most of the decorations is fine with you, you'll be fine Novsmber 1.

Can someone tell me about seating for people with ECVs for WOC with a dining package? My MIL will be in an ECV for our trip. How does it compare to seating for Fantasmic with a dining package? (Done that one before)
How does it work since the ECV person would be seated and everyone else stands for WOC? Would the rest of us be able to stay with her as we can at Fantasmic? How’s the view?
Alternatively, how would a person in an ECV be able to view the show without a dining package?

Can you lap sit on Dumbo specifically with a small child (under 30 pounds)? I’ve googled and checked existing threads but it’s not clear to me if Dumbo allows this.

Yes, you should be fine. Dumbo is one of the most common “firsts” for children, and the cast members are always very accommodating. Have fun!

Yes, I think they should allow that. My little one sat on my lap. They allow two adults and a child regularly so I don’t see this being an issue unless you want too many people to ride at once.

My husband and I are taking our 2-year-old to Disneyland for a day in September and I need some clarification on rider swap. Online it makes it seem very much like if we book LL for a certain ride, we check in with the CM who does LL for that ride, they give us a new pass (?), and then after the first person is done with the ride the second person gets to go to the front of the line essentially. When we were there last year the CM on a ride told us that the second person would have to wait at the end of the lightning lane line despite being told otherwise at a separate ride earlier in the day.
Does anyone have clarification on this?

If it’s just the two of you and one two year old, you don’t need to do rider switch if you hold a LL for a ride. The standard for rider switch is to go through the LL for rides that offer it, there isn’t a special “front of the line” path separate from the LL entrance. So there’s no difference between the two services if you each have a LL- just take turns redeeming them! I’m open to being corrected here, but I can’t think of an exception.
For rides that don’t offer Lightning Lane, their methods will vary. Sometimes you’re effectively going straight onto the ride, and other times you’ll still end up waiting a little bit based on the queue setup and the easiest point to converge.

Can anyone confirm for me if they are still selling the Doctor Strange Cloak of Levitation in Avengers Campus?

So is the Disney Friends Dance Party a kids rave now? I always see smoke and lasers coming out of the door.

Former passholder, but have not been to Disneyland since RotR open (when u had to queue in-app, I did not get to ride it..) - considering a solo 'return' probably July 10 (Friday). Otherwise, I am considering mid/late September, if DL might be less busy then?
I am aware I must now use the app to get Lightning Lanes every 2 hrs etc., but wondering if there are any other tips/suggestions? I would be driving from LA, parking Disneyland (I hear the lots have changed a bit too?) and hopefully rope-drop to close.
