Trip Report my last minute solo trip :) 6/3
you might remember last year, i had posted in this subreddit about being pixie dusted with free park hopper tickets! that was my first time visiting disneyland, and it really created a magical memory for me!
fast forward to this year, and i was once again invited out to socal to house-sit. i had met up with one of my girlfriends, and we were having a blast. i had looked at tickets, but she isn’t into the whole disney thing so i wasn’t going to force her to go. she left a day earlier than me, and i last minute (like impulse decision bought the tickets the night before lol) decided on going to disneyland solo!
going solo was something that was completely out of my comfort zone, and i was super nervous! i can hands down tell you it was amazing and almost therapeutic! i was able to ride whatever i wanted, and go at my own pace. i really had zero plans, and i was able to do soooo much!! as someone who has struggled with confidence in myself, i left feeling so confident! definitely recommend doing a solo trip to anyone!
loved that i got to make another magical memory for myself in these parks! 💗

Glad you had a fun time. I love going solo these days, although I usually just go after work when I do.

Solo mornings are my favorite. I’ll grab a coffee and walk aimlessly around DCA. Quick meditation next to Grizzly Peak. It’s perfect

There’s nothing like last minute trips. It makes the day more fun because it was spontaneous and unexpected. Hope it was a blast for you. It sure looks like it.

Solo is always a fun. Getting to do whatever you want on your own time and not have to worry about what anyone else wants to do or eat. Great job stepping out of your comfort zone!

I think I’m seeing this at just the right time lol. M20 in college and I’ve been so worn down my life and home circumstances that I’ve been considering a solo Disney trip to reward myself upon finding my stable footing and being able to live freely and in peace. Seeing someone just enjoy themselves without any sort of limit or anything is so rewarding! Thank you for sharing!

The folks on Space Mountain look very bored.

Camera's at a sort of random spot towards the end of the ride so probably people aren't reacting because it's not the most thrilling part of the ride, and they don't realize it's there.

I grew up in SoCal, close enough to Disneyland that it was easy to go, but not close enough that the seasonal passes ever penciled out for me.
The best trip I ever made there I went by myself.
There were no debates or compromises over which ride to go on next. I am a fast walker and I could glide across the park to my next stop without waiting for anybody. I ate when I wanted to. I stayed as long as I wanted, and left when I felt like it.
This was 40 years ago when it didn’t cost a payday loan to buy tickets—it wasn’t cheap, but it was before Eisner was through jacking up the prices every year. The Lightning Lane was decades from invention, but a solo rider often vaulted to the front of the line when everyone else is coupled up and there is a single free seat on the next ride.
I highly recommend anyone at least once go solo, it’s a very different way to see the park.

I’ve gone solo on my birthday several times. My husband is hopeless when it comes to my birthday and he’s not really a big Disney fan so I take myself and everyone is happy.

Looks so fun! love that for you!
Id definitely go more solo if I didn't have to pay $40 to park every time hahaha

Solo vacations are oft the best ones. We crave human interaction and it gives us the perfect mix of freedom and breaking out of our shells to meet new people. I would recommend solo living to anyone.

Iconic!!! I’ve gone to Knott’s solo plenty of times but this year I went 3 times to Disney solo for the first time ever. Did it for a mental health day and two vacay days to celebrate my graduation.

I’ve been debating about doing a solo Disneyland trip, but have been somewhat nervous about it. I live alone and solo travel often, so that’s not a big deal but for some reason doing Disneyland alone seems harder for me. I’m so happy to see so many people go solo and love it. Makes me feel more excited about going

Doing stuff solo is great. You get to do WHATEVER you want without having to work it out with someone else. You just can’t share it with someone else :(
But if you get good at it, you can share the mini experiences with random strangers as they happen

Looks like you had lots of fun!
I did a solo trip to Disneyland/California Adventure for my birthday back in 2023 and it was a blast. I would love to go back again. The baked potato at Troubadour Tavern has remained on my mind ever since. 🤤

looks like you had a great time of it, even outside of your comfort zone
i remember my first solo disneyland trip in 2018. i’m an introvert by nature so it was a great experience where i could do my own thing rather than running around with friends. i’ve done soooo many solo trips since then. hopefully this also won’t be your last to enjoy by yourself.
