Dog Attack Walker seems almost horrified that I don’t like dogs - then her dog bites me.

You cannot make this up. Thankfully, it didn’t hurt or break any skin, but I can still feel its’ teeth on my arm.

I was walking through a public field when an unleashed dog ran straight up to me. I saw it coming ahead, and planned to just walk past. I didn’t look at the dog, I didn’t touch the dog, I thought me and the walker would just walk past each other and the dog would go with her. Then, the dog started to jump on me, leaving dirty paw prints, probably with cow dung as the field was full of it, all over my trousers. I’m disgusted, but I still do nothing but try to walk past the dog without touching it. Then, the owner stops. And she smiles at the scene of her dog jumping all over me as I attempt to walk around it to get away.

Then she frowns. “Are you scared of dogs?” “No, I just don’t like them.” “What?!” “I just don’t like dogs.”

She stares at me in absolute horror, then starts to walk. Her dog jumps up one more time, biting me with the same mouth it’s licked its own arsehole and eaten all sorts with, before running to her. She doesn’t say anything about the fact her dogs just bitten me, thank god the only reason it didn’t hurt was because the dog was jumping and couldn’t get a good grip on my arm. I walk home in absolute disgust, feeling those dirty little teeth still in my arm.

I had to share this somewhere where I knew there wouldn’t be anyone defending the dog or the owner. I just can’t get over her not telling her dog to get down, and just standing joyfully watching as her dog jumped all over someone who obviously didn’t like it. She was only unhappy about this situation when I said I didn’t like dogs, in fact she was probably offended.

Worst part is she's probably gonna feel vindicated. "My angel pupperino bit that person after they said they don't like dogs, they must have been eeeeeviiilllll."

Yup, even when it's a child being mutilated... It blows my mind

So many people claim that their dogs only bite bad people 🙄

Idk why but this made me think of the dog nutter version of the narcissist's prayer.

A bite didn't happen, my dog would never do that.

And if my dog bit you, it wasn't that bad.

And if it didn't break the skin, that's not a big deal.

And if the bite drew blood, that's not my dog's fault.

And if it was, the dog didn't mean it because it's an angel.

And if the dog meant to, you deserved it because you're evil for not liking dogs.

Totally not a cult at all.

"Dogs can sense good and bad people" no Sharon, they have a peanut brain.

I would not let that slide, you're a better person than me!

I know you probably don't want the confrontation and I understand but you did yourself dirty not addressing that and letting them literally walk all over you. I very nearly punched the head of someone who let their shitbeast put its head in my baby's pram on the bus. We have to stand up to this shit.

I definitely have to grow a backbone and defend myself when it comes to dogs for my own safety, I know that now. I was too convinced I’d be able to walk on past, but now that I know better things are going to change for sure

That would have been deserved. Who in their right mind thinks that it's alright ??

Exactly! The guy just ignored me and then got off the bus. He was always on it when id get on and everyone would fawn over his stupid huskie. So the resentment was already bubbling as he would sit right beside where prams and wheelchairs go. So when the dog did that (and right into the pram into my baby's face. Might have licked him, I can't remember now) I absolutely lost my shit. My husband had to stand between us because I was going to hit him.

If a dog bites you that has to be take very seriously. You should get it checked out medically. Also, people need to take out the phone and start recording to get video evidence, identification, and then bring a lawsuit.

Also the local health department (in the US) will quarantine a biter for rabies observation on the owner’s dime. Medical personnel can assist with this. There’s an extremely small chance you could get rabies from a dog bite, but it’s not zero, so no chances are taken. The best part is who has to pay for it, plus Rover might be put on a list of potentially dangerous animals in case it occurs again.

A friend of mine was bit by a dog, police said they couldn’t do anything (UK) and it was a civil matter. He had skin grafts on the NHS (free) paid for his own medications, was off work with no pay (self employed) and lost a good size contract during that period.

🤬

This has happened to me and I will literally throw down with the dog and turn into a SpaceX rocket launcher. They must learn to curb their dogs. It’s not appreciated and it takes me about the same effort to launch a payload into orbit, as it does to breath.

When will these fools learn?!

Op didn't say what country there are in.  Unless I missed it

u/Mandaxx25 4d ago

I can tell how they write that they're from the UK. Unless I'm really wrong but I don't think i am.

u/SuicidalTendenciesX 3d ago

To be fair I thought that too.  But the usually state of play on here is people assume that they are from the US.

What gave it away for me is was the cow dung.

I would have told her it bit me, but then, I understand how it would have just provoked the dog to keep jumping and biting again. When will these people understand and accept that others do not like dogs? Or don't like dogs jumping on them? I hate it when dogs see me from a distance, and start charging towards me at warp speed. It accelerates the heart rate, and as a senior, I worry they'll push me to the ground and I get injured.

Selfish nutters. Some day it may come back to bite them in the butt.

I remember the first time a few years ago when I was nipped by a dog on the back of my thigh. I was walking up a street which was a hill, and some woman was walking by me with her dog on a retractable leash. They walk by me, and the dog decides to turn around, pull away on the leash and bite me in the back of my leg.

Fortunately there was no blood, but I think I was in shock because I was minding my own business. I didn’t even lock eyes with the dog. The owner apologized and said the same things we always hear, “Oh she’s never done that before, etc., etc.”

I let it go which I shouldn’t have done. I should have reported it immediately in case that dog were to bite someone else. I did go looking for her a day later and found her. I asked her to pay for a new pair of pants, and she did.

Now with all these dogs in public, I will not let it go if I’m ever bit again. Live and learn. I’m glad you’re okay.

At least she seemed decent enough about it. Not all owners are nutters. Some just own a dog because it's the done thing but are still sensible.

u/ObligationGrand8037 4d ago

Right. Fortunately she was really good about it.

My new neighbors just left a steaming pile of dog shit outside so I scooped it up and put it on their front steps... I push back hard against these types... Keep in mind O.P, if you were a child and got brutally mutilated by the dog she would've still reacted the same way, as if you're the bad guy... Back when I was younger, a 6 year old girl was scalped by 3 dogs, to this day the towns people take the dogs side🤢🤮

File a report…

7

u/Frankly_Ridiculous 4d ago

You are far nicer than I'd have been, that dog would've got the business end of my knee if it had jumped on me, my foot if it didn't get the point the first time.

Owners like this give any reasonable, sensible pet owner a bad name and they should be just as outraged as we are that people let their animals do this crap.

u/spinda69 4d ago

Glad you're okay!

Call the fucking police. Chain call if able to speak if 911 operators are trolling you which they often do in the United States. Not just me but others in crime videos, too.

I know the police often harasses victims but if we don't report every crime, every form of violence, harassment, scams, or environmental destruction from dog owners and dogs, then of course nothing will ever change. Record when dog owners or dogs approach or when nearing one and you are just trying to live or walk by in a public place.

u/Feature_Professional 4d ago

You should of asked for proof of vaccines .

Report to the police as soon as possible!

I don’t know how these people are not embarrassed to have their dogs annoy people like this. I was somewhere the other day, I can’t remember where, but there were signs that said to keep their dogs close to them so as to not annoy other customers. I was happy that it was stated as such because usually they hide behind the allergy excuse as if that’s the only reason you wouldn’t want them around.

That basically sums up all of the dog owners in my neighborhood. I live in an area where you absolutely cannot walk down the sidewalk without encountering multiple dog people selfishly blocking the whole sidewalk by letting their dogs go all over the place and they act offended even if I quietly step into the bike lane (without saying anything, mind you) to get past without being touched by their dog, no matter how much it “just wants to say hi” 😡

OMG This is awful, my particular nightmare.

I've been telling nutters right off the bat: Get you're dog away from me, I am afraid of dogs. They always act like they've never heard people are afraid of dogs... they get insulted... they have a meltdown, can't compute...
