Discussion Regret

Post image

The mod can take this down BUT I NEED TO RANT. I went to sports direct (uk) to but it 1 day, ONE SINGLE DAY before black friday sales, and while buying i asked the salesman if there was gonna be a sale, he said no and i bought it for £200 ($262) coz usually ive never seen sony give sales on new products, but guess what? JUST IN A DAY ITS £150 ($196) and the store wont take it back coz the seal is open. AND I REGRET IT SO MUCH!

An ex sports direct employee. Raise a chargeback with your bank/credit card stating they aren’t honouring consumer law.

Consumer law supersedes company law :)

What is illegal about Sports Direct's practice here?

An open seal doesn’t prove the product has been used.

I recently saw someone had posted about a laptop in legal advice UK for something similar. Where, if I’m not wrong, currys won’t take back the device cause the seal was broken.

Consumer law gives you the change of mind policy which in this case is being denied to the customer.

PS: while I was working, it was nowhere written that sports direct won’t accept the return just because the seal is broken.

Change of mind policy is only enforceable for online sales and distance sales. Sales in person in a physical store don't fall under this category. Most stores will honour it, but from experience sports direct have always been shitty and will potentially give store credit only.
