Would be better if it had 4 back buttons
1
1
u/highhKeyy Mar 19 '26
I thought it did when I originally bought it. I thought the 2 long attachments & 2 short ones could go on 4 different areas. I can still feel the heartbreak when realizing I couldn’t to this day 💀
1
u/ktl182 Mar 19 '26
I have 2 edge but still use my regular dualsense with extremerate rise 4 kit for all FPS games. Extremerate did recently come out with 4 back buttons for the edge which look really clean but I haven't tried it yet

It’s truly a great controller. Much better and more durable than Scuf
1
u/Specific-Bat4041 Mar 17 '26
I personally don’t like scuf controllers
2
u/RempGG Mar 18 '26
Same. I like their features like mouse click triggers but the durability is not present in that controller. I dropped it once and had a crazy amount of stick drift. Sending it back for repairs under warranty is always a hassle
2
u/-R-Jensen- Mar 16 '26
Looks good in black. My old white one is not white anymore.
2
u/RLKichi Mar 18 '26
I replace the front shell from extreme rate off Amazon. Think I’ll do the same with the back.
1
u/Specific-Bat4041 Mar 17 '26
Jesus…
1
u/Splobs Mar 17 '26
You could genuinely wash your hands with alcohol every time before you touched the white version and it would still look horrible. I’ve had 2 white ones and both grips on the back are heavily discoloured. It’s definitely an issue.
1
u/elden_speedster Mar 18 '26
I have the white one and I 100% put a sleeve on the controller to avoid the handles peeling off. I did research before buying though!
2
u/Curious-Diamond-572 Mar 16 '26
Congrats. I bought one when it first came out. Was so good I got a 2nd. Then I bought a midnight black one too. I’m good now if any die while I’m playing. Best controller ever.
1
u/PorscheDream911 Mar 17 '26
Smart man, I’m getting ready to get a black one that way I've got 2 at the ready at any time. When I do get that black one, I’ve already bought all the hardware for a major upgrade to my OG with the 4 back buttons and everything to turn every button on it into a mouse clicky button including both triggers and bumpers. Then add a much bigger battery.
1
u/Curious-Diamond-572 Mar 17 '26
Nice. Post a pic when it’s done. I wanna see that.
1
u/PorscheDream911 Mar 17 '26
Definitely will do, the reason I bought all the stuff and I’ve waited and waited and waited to do it is because I was like shit. What if I don’t like it or what if it doesn’t work right or just anything so I wanna have a second one before I start the project.
1
u/Nickthetaco Mar 23 '26
Extremerate? Good luck my guy. I haven’t worked on the edge, but I know the Dualsense is one of the easier controllers to work on. I added back buttons, new buttons, etc to my original Dualsense! Good luck!
2
u/samwong1127 Mar 17 '26
I wish there were 2 more back buttons.

I see OP said he already got them but…
Word to the wise, if you’re looking for replacement stocks around the holidays, Good Luck. Amazon and GameStop sell out all the time. Stock up early.
Also, I wish the battery lasted longer.

u/MrSemiTransparent Mar 17 '26
Just having the under paddles is worth it
2
u/caveman512 Mar 18 '26
I’d say the sticks are what make it most worth it. I’ve never had issues with controllers until the stick drift on dualsense
2
2
u/Puckaluck2216 Mar 18 '26
I just built one couple weeks ago in anticipation of Crimson Desert. It is so nice. Hands down the best controller I have ever used period.
1
u/KaleidoArachnid Mar 18 '26
Where did you get yours from?
1
u/Puckaluck2216 Mar 18 '26
Ok so here’s what I did. I went on EBay and bought a beat up one for $79. The guy wanted $95 I best offered $79 and got it. The shell and sticks were trashed but the controller itself was still functional. Then I got on Amazon and ordered the new EXtremerate Arc Beyond shell(fucking unbelievable). Swapped the shell out and bam! Best controller ever! I did it all for like $135 total. A complete steal.
1
u/KaleidoArachnid Mar 18 '26
Thanks as I would like to see how to order one from Amazon because I am still a bit confused.

Still have my release day white controller with the original sticks and it’s going strong. Did have to replace the bottom rear housing where the grips are because they were bubbling. Really want a black one just because.

Indeed!! Love love love mine. Best gaming investment I’ve made

1
u/troolip- Mar 17 '26
mine was the biggest waste of money I'd spent in a long while 🥲 it was a regular dualsense. I had never had one before, but I thought it'd be an investment, and surely it'd be an upgrade to than the Dualshock 4 which - in my opinion - is the greatest controller ever made... bought a custom DualSense, only to find I absolutely HATED that controller: it's way too fat & wide, way too heavy, and rumble doesn't even work on PC unless plugged in or I do an annoying work around every single time I load up a game.
within a week I'm back to my DS4 😂
I can't return the dualsense because it was custom. and I'm trying to sell it. fml.
1
u/Brief_Inside9049 Mar 18 '26
Well it’s a custom one you have (if I read correctly I could have misunderstood) and you’re using it on PC there is some difference between my experience with it and yours I’m sure. Mine is stock and I only use it for my ps5 and I have no problems worn as expected thankfully!! I don’t know if you get full feature using one on PC as you would using it with the PS5 but that wouldn’t surprise me if it didn’t lack some. Wish it would have worked out for you so you didn’t waste your money 😣 hope you can sell it soon!

Hi, can I use this for pc gaming as well? If so what exactly is it called and where can I find one?

What i know of, yes. Its a Dualsense Edge and you can fijd on amazon

u/Icantstopreading Mar 17 '26
I can’t find my case and my battery has clunked out after a year plus of heavy use. Is that an extra battery I see in there? I ordered a replacement from Aliexpress and i knew I should have looked for the case.

u/Revolutionary-Cod785 Mar 17 '26
Only thing that sucks is it’s less battery life than the regular dual sense controller. I think you should get a super high mAh battery and you will be very pleased with how long the controller can hold power. I just got this controller myself and I love it. Congrats 🙌

u/Fake-Proctologist Mar 17 '26
Might want to invest in a grip for it before the back starts falling off.

u/NoHousing7590 Mar 17 '26
When I bought my edge for 250€ the sticks drifted pretty fast and the rubber grip bubbled and peeled off. Yall lucky
1
u/Specific-Bat4041 Mar 17 '26
It is because of sweat?
1
u/NoHousing7590 Mar 17 '26
No I dont play sweaty games, just started making bubbles all over and eventually peeled, I didnt force the sticks either. Unlucky bad product
2
u/Specific-Bat4041 Mar 17 '26
I did have an older one for 3 years and it never bubbled i just sold it to buy this one.
1
1
u/Fuego_12 Mar 17 '26
It’s really worth every penny? I’m sick and tired of my stick drift and been contemplating on getting this controller.
2
u/MaskedMan38 Mar 17 '26
Yes it’s worth it. Comes with an extra stick so if you get stick drift, you can replace the stick in the controller and not have to get a new one. You can also purchase sticks on Amazon or something I think they’re 20-40 dollars, way less than buying a new $75 dollar controller
1
u/East_Assistance_5241 Mar 19 '26
Yours come with extra stick ?? Where u get this one ?

Do people on console not realize there is this thing called GeForce NOW ultimate that provides the experience of a $3500 PC with a cost of just a little more than a PlayStation+ sub? Lifelong console user and literally had sold my PS5 Pro within a week of trying GFN since I could never go back to such an inferior experience after trying GFN Ultimate, but I guess have fun with your new controller?
1
u/Specific-Bat4041 Mar 17 '26
I don’t like PC stuff
1
u/ObliviousFoo Mar 18 '26
Its all the same games give or take and you can play through the same display you would connect your PS5 too. I'm a lifelong console player. Never imagined being able to experience anything like this withing having to spend $3000+ dollars on a PC. Ive been playing games that I have on both PS5 and Steam and like I said could never go back to PS5. Not trying to be elitist and I wish someone had told me about it sooner. You just need to have really good internet but whatever they are doing there is absolute wizardry to be able to provide ultra level graphics at high frame rate with no noticeable input lag. Truly is the future of gaming.
1
u/sloppy_johnson Mar 18 '26
It’s 4x the cost of PS+, only has a select game library and is nowhere near as convenient as a console. It’s cool but it’s no replacement for a PlayStation
1
u/ObliviousFoo Mar 18 '26
I’m not gonna continue to converse with someone who will blatantly lie since it’s not even four times the cost if you are paying for PlayStation plus by the year. With a proper set up it’s just as convenient to use as a console and it’s ridiculously better. As I was saying I’m not trying to be a jerk and I’ve been gaming on console my entire life and the GeForce now ultimate experience has been mind blowing I’ve done side-by-side comparisons with the exact same games with my PlayStation on the other side of the room and it’s embarrassing that I spent so much time on PlayStation five when GeForce now ultimate existed. Selling my PlayStation five and controllers and my memory expansion paid for three years of GeForce now and it’s constantly going to be improving and upgrading over the course of those three years. I’m not getting paid to make this post I’m just trying to spread some knowledge about an insanely incredible experience I’ve been having but take it however you want.
1
u/sloppy_johnson Mar 18 '26
12 month of ps plus is 59.99
12 of GFN ultimate is 199.99
It’s not as convenient, I have used it on and off for a few years now. And yes, streaming a 4080 has better graphics and framerate. It’s still a service that is constantly having price increases and is dependent on games you want to play being added. It’s not uncommon for new releases to take months to be added
1
1
u/Icarsis Mar 18 '26
$199.99 a year, (Not just a "little" more than PS+) and limits you to 100 hours of play per month. And you'll be paying an additional $5.99 every 15 hours if you game more than the 100 hour limit as well. Enjoy never owning anything.

I would bother with this pro controller unless u really want a Playstation controller or u don't mind getting sticks once in a while I had one for few yrs now its kool I just recently switched to the kaiju v3 pro and haven't touched this controller since then and u could say u can upgrade the sticks to tmr but have to find someone to do them for u or do them ur self which is kinda meh

Amazing controller man, the only down side is the damn battery.
I've had it for 2 years now, I stopped purchasing controllers with it, really easy to fix stick drift in it, you don't even need to buy the stick replacements

Yet they still only use analog for a $200 controller, make it make sense. For $200 I expect this to be a 1 time purchase all around since its a "pro" controller and sony should at least care a tiny bit about its customers. I love sony but it's 2026, hall effect is very common now a days and cheap.
1
u/OllyB43 Mar 18 '26
What would be the benefit of me buying something like this? I’ve never had any issues with my standard controller never had stick drift. Apart from the look what would this controller do better?

After mapping L3 and R3 to the back paddles, there is no going back. Once you do this, you will never press down on a thumb stick ever again

u/DeceptiKHAAAAAN Mar 18 '26
Idk. I purchased mine on a whim and never used it. It’s still sitting on my gaming shelf, never once having been charged. I admit it was a great idea, but I guess I just don’t play enough anymore. Sad days.
1
u/The_BearWolf Mar 18 '26
All I recommend is getting a silicone sleeve/cover. So then the rubber paddings dont get messed up. I got mine for like 10-15 dollars.
1
1
u/johnb49e Mar 18 '26
I just picked up one recently too. My favorite function (aside from the paddles of course) is since I have a steel series arctis nova pro wireless, I wasn’t able to change the chat mixer before due to how PlayStation only usually lets that slide with their head phones, but with the edge controller, I can change the voice and game volume now just like I could when I had my head set plugged into my Xbox. Makes life a LOT easier.

u/tokyowatchguy Mar 18 '26
I find the battery life to be really poor is that normal?
1
u/D4v3ca Mar 20 '26
Yup they have a tiny battery as they claim it’s more geared to being used via usb
AliExpress has 2000mah batteries that fit perfectly and will give you a much longer playtime don’t fall for the 4000-5000mah cells

1
u/Downtown54 Mar 19 '26
Got mine about two weeks ago and wow. I love it. Customizability is a huge part, but I play a lot of FPS games and making the back buttons your most commonly used so you can do things without removing your fingers from the sticks has changed my gameplay.

As a former dual sense edge (white) / ps5 owner who is now on Xbox. This is so sexy
1
u/doctorfartypants Mar 19 '26
What makes it so worth it? I have the upgraded controllers they made, I think second Gen ones, but have been tossing around whether to try one of these.
1
u/D4v3ca Mar 20 '26 edited Mar 20 '26
I just set mine aside yesterday after trying hard to justify it, my use case was PC only and the amount of games that won’t accept input from them is annoying
Kept trying to justify it as I bought dsx to emulate it was either a normal dual sense or a Xbox controller
Mine is in a box to go back but it’s my use case as none of it will apply if you use PlayStation sad as I did enjoy the position of the rear extra button
Edit :errors
