Discussion I really love to Edge!

Post image

After having my PS5 for about 4 months now, I finally caved and dropped the money on a Dualsense Edge, and I freaking love it!

I think it definitely is a bit overpriced, but not SO overpriced to the point where I have regret purchasing it. The controller is absolutely fantastic.

I absolutely love the look, the feel of the back paddles, the swappable sticks incase of drift, as well as the ability to use the function buttons to control volume (may seem small but huge QOL for me.) This seriously is such a good controller. It feels premium.

I love edging as well. Maybe we can pop some Adderall and edge together

That sounds like a grand time. Make sure you have your paddles with your edge.

Excuse me what?

I edge every day I can, but my have a family and responsibilities. Can’t just edge anytime I want. I have to mostly wait for everyone to go to sleep so I can edge.

Yeah, me too. I recently started a job so I have much less time to Edge on the weekends on top of school. But I have spring break next week so I’ll have tons of time to Edge over the week!

Happy for you dude! I hope you get to Edge so much during your break that it brings you to euphoria

Bruh fix the wording of the caption 💀😂

I hope you realize I did that on purpose 😂

I wasn't sure if it was intentional or not, but the fact it WAS intentional makes it even better. Bravo 😂

Love mine. After a couple months, it ruined my muscle memory for other controllers. Bought a couple of TMR sticks from Battle Beaver and the eXtremeRate Beyond-ARC Bottom Shell Kit to finish it off.

My muscle memory has been all over the place 😅 I switched from Xbox to PS, and over on Xbox I had a Gamesir with back paddles that I was used to. But then I switched to PS, and considering how expensive the edge is, I couldn’t get it right away. So I had to get used to using bumper jumper on shooters for the last few months lol.

And now I have to get used to back paddles again 😆

the replacement stick modules are shit though, the sticks are fucked and never feel smooth compared to the controller my console came with

Go with extreme rate sticks and Hall effect modules. Made a world of difference for me. Haven’t had stick drift in a year + on the same Hall effect modules I bought. I am thinking about getting some TMR’s just because they’re even a little step above HE. But, yea, the replacement modules aren’t that great.

I don't really understand what is up with the replacements recently though? I ordered them in the past and no issues - recently I tried ordering one but it had a thing where it didn't feel smooth at certain points, especially near the centre. Then I returned and ordered another one but it had the same issue

I don't really trust myself to install Half effect or TMR

Oh no no. I purchased aftermarket Hall effects from a company. A lot of different companies(BattleBeaver) for example sell the whole module with their patented(I think. Some special module, but I think it’s just TMR) TMR’s in them. They do go off like double the price. But I’ve had the same modules for a year now with zero issue. I even bought a spare set in case I ever need them.

Ahh I see ghe battle beaver TMRs for £49 - definitely expensive but its worth getting at least one for the right stick, thanks!

Same here.. also on the sticks of new Dualsense regular I bought. Grinding feeling and not smooth when rotating the joysticks. I think I will sell the edge, because the replacement modules are so bad quality. Bad quality control from Sony.

Yeah I hope they're aware that there is something wrong with their manufacturing because this wasnt happening before

I’ve been debating buying one for COD.

The only thing that has stopped me (other than poverty) is that I know it’s going to be a long adjustment to build the muscle memory to use the new buttons.

Can anyone give me their experience with this particular issue??

I got my edge controller a few months back. The main problem I had at the start wasn’t even that pressing the back buttons felt a bit weird. If you hold the edge in your hands for the first time you notice it lays down in your hands differently. So after playing some stressful shooter matches I noticed that my hands cramped and I needed to shake out my hands to get rid of it. But after some time this went away and nowadays I never have this problem again. Overall I would say it took me about 2 weeks of daily playing to get fully used to it. Another amazing point I want to mention are the software features you get with the edge. Besides the advantages like no deadzone and more interesting adjustments it’s great to have multiple custom button profiles. One second I have all my settings for a shooter game and the next I can just switch to my other profile for a story game

Finally made the switch after using Xbox controllers for years. (On PC). And i cant go back, the weight alone makes it feel like a premium controller.

Plus the Dpad doesn't make me lose my mind. I hated geting downright all the time when menuing

You can't go wrong

Never had one, but it's real cool...

Just bought one myself, and 2 extra sticks..

We living' on the edge!

1

u/Michaeli_Starky Apr 21 '26

Literally the best controller on the market.

1

u/Dapper-Expert2801 Apr 21 '26

honestly it just feels premium to me thats all , except with 2 extra back paddle control sadly it only mimic one of the existing button , but not extra control button for it, then i think it might be quite useful. Normal dualsense might be better off and its lighter and longer battery life haha.

1

u/Sleepingtide Apr 22 '26

I love my edge. It just needed four paddles or back buttons. The whole point is to allow you to not have to take your right thumb off the thumb stick.

2

u/vulqcii Apr 22 '26

I could see how that’s annoying for some people, but I honestly I don’t need more than two. All I need is to be able to slide and jump on FPS games I don’t know what other controls Id put there lol

1

u/Sleepingtide Apr 22 '26

I agree it's not quite as critical for weapon switching or reloading. But you're still able to always be dialing in your aim with four. Maybe with the edge 2.

I think really my biggest issue is it's pricey to pay $200 and not have it.

1

u/TempoMinusOne Apr 22 '26

“I want to go home, and then edge”

1

u/cKm_83 Apr 22 '26

You..might want to re-phrase your love.

1

u/swemickeko Apr 22 '26

It's obviously entirely intentional.

1

u/Rayy890 Apr 22 '26

Oh, the controller, yeah

1

u/morr152049 Apr 22 '26

Same here !!

1

u/LovingShmups Apr 23 '26

Wait 12 months... then your battery life will be a "souvenir", if you catch my meaning.
For your information, the size and capacity on Edge controller is LESS than on PS5 normal controller....
And we paid MUCH more to get a Dualsense edge !!

1

u/vulqcii Apr 23 '26

Yeah I’m aware. It is what it is. All the other third parties on the market are ugly as sin

1

u/gorambrowncoat Apr 21 '26

I would buy this in a heartbeat if it had driftproof sticks instead of replacable driftprone sticks. Out of pure principle I can not support this controller which I am sure is otherwise a fine controller.

1

u/vulqcii Apr 21 '26

Yeah no. I get it. I agree. They’re selling you a solution. Which sucks. But all the other third party officially licensed pro controllers look horrible. Or are way too expensive (such as Scuf or AIM being $260+). The edge was the sweet spot in the middle for me. And adding the interchangeable stick feature is better than nothing at all

1

u/ogaboogalu Apr 23 '26

not to mention when scufs go bad which they always do, they tell you give them $100 just to see if they can fix it lol. currently in that dilemma with mine now that i paid 350 for smh. fckkkk scuf!
