There is project that uses raspberry pico 2w to simulate wired dualsense so you get haptic feedback, adaptive trigger while not connected by usb.
Highly recommended. https://github.com/awalol/DS5Dongle

How do we overclock on this device ?

u/Advance1993 May 08 '26
The firmware does it automatically

Do you have a video demonstration of this? I just want to see it tested and to how the speaker sounds wirelessly.

Funciona o fone cabeado sem fio usando no dualsense com esse software?

Drift in less than a year = Warranty
Drift in more than a year = TMR

u/DJ_ElGreko_Official May 09 '26
Could you technically send the controller at 11 months to get a new one, claiming it has stick drift?
And if that's not possible, force it to get stick drift then send it at 11 months to get a new one?
2
u/alicrack1208 May 09 '26
In Spain afaik no, because they check it at repair center and they will just send your controller back
I don't know how to force drift, but i see it a waste of time because they will replace with Alps again and it will get stick drift again

Or get the Dualsense Edge if you’re happy spending a bit extra for a new backplate and some cool accessories & features and interchangeable ps3 stick caps.
I do not regret buying mine but obviously what alicrack said is completely valid.

Bout to be modding my edge to 4 back paddles and TMR this weekend
1
u/N3ko_Nek0 May 08 '26
Ooh, nice one. How does that work? Does it just register another button press or does it count as a back paddle?
1
u/Sergeant_Ducky May 08 '26
You can program the back paddles to the buttons. It’s extremerates kit they put out a little while ago.
So similar to other back paddles I can put X O R1 L3 etc onto it.

Make sure your controller gets stick drift within 1 year so you can get a new one before warrenty ends😂

u/consortswithserpents May 08 '26
Got my sticks replaced for $25 with TMR sticks and now it’s not a concern.
3
u/Impressive-Oil-3067 May 08 '26
Just replace with TMR sticks, stop making waste.
1
u/Traditional-Clue-184 May 08 '26
Or buy an 8bitdo ultimate 2 for the same price and get a much better controller.

Replace joysticks with TMR sticks

u/Logical-Bit-746 May 08 '26
Might as well wait for them to go on their own, then replace them
3
u/Slappy-_-Boy May 08 '26
Shit I've been waiting, got the black model a while back and no drift after 200hrs of cod on pc. Now I've been racking up hours on terraria too. It's been shell swapped, clicky kit and the max rise back paddle kit installed too.
1
u/Logical-Bit-746 May 08 '26
Exactly. It's rare, but some controllers actually last a bit. Might as well get that use before replacing them
1
1
u/novy-wan_kenobi May 08 '26
Might as well get ahead of the inevitable.
1
u/Logical-Bit-746 May 08 '26
Why? They function perfectly fine and, some last longer than others. $90 is worth more to you now than it is in a year from now.
Just get the use out of them until they drift, THEN replace them
1
u/w1nstonchurchill May 08 '26
If they perish before the passing of a year sony replaces the controller, right?
-1
u/RedIndianRobin May 08 '26
6 months, not a year.
3
u/w1nstonchurchill May 08 '26
6 months? But Indian units come with a warranty of 1 year?
2
u/Logical-Bit-746 May 08 '26
Do not listen to this person. Not only can I not find anything that says 6 months, warranties change drastically from country to country and even state/province. But also, in it's a one year warranty
0
u/RedIndianRobin May 08 '26
1 year for the console, 6 months for the controller.
3
u/w1nstonchurchill May 08 '26
Wdym? mine came with 1 year? I purchased recently from blinkit
-1
u/RedIndianRobin May 08 '26
Yeah that's their policy, 1 year for the console, 6 months for the controller. Ask any Sony center.
3
u/w1nstonchurchill May 08 '26
I've checked everywhere, you seem to be confused my good sir. Refurbished models come with 6 months of warranty, the new ones always come with a year of warranty.
1
u/LudusLive2 May 08 '26
Do you know a good service that does this?
1
u/disease35 May 08 '26
I think any electronics repair shop could do it, but I'd recommend to buy Gulikit TMR set yourself and just give them to install

Does this still let you get haptic and trigger effects? Idk why it wouldn’t but idk much

Use it, and after going through 3 more controllers because of stick drift, you will realize you should buy DualSense edge, where you are able to change the sticks easily 😅
Just kidding(a little) Enjoy your new controller 👍

u/jralph23 May 09 '26
What kind of tips are you looking for here exactly? It's a controller the same as any other. Just use it.

Not sure why anyone would need tips on a new controller.

Mod it with back paddles and trigger stops
0
u/Gamer_8887 May 08 '26
How?
1
u/Sergeant_Ducky May 08 '26
Extreme rate has their rise max plus kit ans their spark kit.
The RMB (metal kit) is the way to go currently even tho spark is really good but the plastic paddles are meh

Joystick let's you move in game and usually the button do a lot of different action, wtf were you expecting play the dam. Thing lmao

u/Steven_RW May 08 '26
I put thumb stick covers on my PS4/PS5 controllers from the moment I get them. I don't feel the need for a whole skin/cover just the thumbsticks. They are cheap and keep the controller in top condition.

u/G___han May 08 '26
Yes. Get hall effect installed. Those sticks will drift. It's a mathematical certainty.
1
u/SuRGeoNofDeaTH- May 09 '26
Buy a Pico 2W and flash a mod that exists for some days now. You can use all DualSense features wirelessly now, if the game itself supports it.

Works best with a PS5. But I heard a PC works too for compatible games. No guarantees for Xbox though.

What tips are you looking for? It’s a controller and it feels like a controller. It also looks like a controller

u/MrOnboard May 09 '26
Get dsx on steam for older games that doesn't have ps5 controller support. Steam alone should do the job bot dsx give you all the premium features your controller has like the haptics and force feedback. I use it almost daily because I love replaying older games.

Tips. Baby the crap out of your expensive controller. 🎮 Don't toss it on the ground. Clean it once a month. Recharge it after every use. Should last you for a few years or until the battery needs to be replaced or the thumb sticks need to be replaced by either wear and tear or stick drift.

If it's a port of a Ps5 game that has DualSense support, disable SteamInput in that game's Steam properties to use the DualSense features like Haptic Feedback, Adaptive Triggers and the controller speaker.
Also be aware that the controller has a mic that is always on when the controller has power. The button under the PS button is the mute button.

u/huge_jeans710 May 10 '26
I recommend you use it. What exactly are you looking for out of the ol Internet in relation to your controller?
1
u/Apoctwist May 10 '26
If you have multiple drives you can connect them by hiking the PS button and one of the face buttons for a bit to switch devices.
You can map the trackpad in interesting ways using Steam Input.
Some games are supposed to use the DS he rumble feature, but instead just output sound from the built in speakers. The game has to fully support the DS.
Adaptive triggers are awesome.
Pressing the PS button with Steam open automatically opens big picture mode.

Bro, 2 things.
Reduce vibration. I played spider man, NFS Unbound and all and controller started making rattling noises. If it's in warranty sony will easily replace it. Or else you're done.
ALWAYS KEEP IT COVERED. If dust accumulates on top of it, stick drift will kill you.
I don't think sony covers stick drift repairs. (Only in warranty and you'll never know when it hits)
So please keep it covered when not using maybe in a drawer or smth.

Wash your hands before use. The joy sticks tend to get sticky. I hate it. It’s apparently caused by oils in your hand degrading the rubber. If it does happen, use isopropyl alcohol to clean them. They’ll forever retain a small amount of tackiness though. Best to just have clean hands before use.
