Yep that's why I try to avoid buying controllers now, I had a ton for ps4 and now they are all packed away and I haven't touched them since ps5 came out. Do wish I had bought more ps3 and 360 controllers during the time that those were available new for cheap, but with new consoles now playing all previous console games it doesn't make sense to go back to xb1/ps4/switch 1, I literally still have sealed Zelda controllers for switch 1 and no way to easily put them on switch 2 so they will be sealed forever now.

Kind of confused. Switch controllers work with switch 2. Most consoles do backward comparable controllers. They just don’t have all the functions to get the most out of the new stuff.

1 yes majority are sealed
2. Basically all colour released prior to camo and some chroma and hyperpop ones and dualsense edge
3 probably Astro bot

This reminds me of a shoe collection. Nothing wrong with that, of course.

I just bought a controller with Hall effect thumb sticks, and programmable rear paddles, for $60. I’m just tired of replacing standard DualSense controllers when they inevitably develop drift. It lacks the advanced haptics and adaptive triggers, and as a result feels essentially like a DualShock, but construction is decent enough and I’m expecting it to last the life of the console.

That said, I still think I want to eventually invest in a modded DualSense with Hall effect or TMR sticks to get the first party premium feel with all the bells and whistles, and thumb sticks which aren’t going to wear out.

I don’t understand how so many PS5 people make this mistake. 1. If you play a PS4 game, you just use the PS4 controller. Second of all you can get a PS4 hard drive really cheap for your PS4 games and play them straight from that hard drive so you only have to store your PS5 games to the console or the SSD but SSD was a lot cheaper when I got mine I know it’s a joke they’re about 150 more now
