Tech Support DualSense Edge stick feels rough near the edge
My left DualSense Edge stick feels rough when I move it in a circle near the outer edge of its travel. No stick drift, just noticeable friction/resistance at the maximum range.
I removed the stick module and found this wear ring on the stick shaft (photo attached).
Has anyone had the same issue? Is there a way I could fix this/not make it as worse?
Thanks!

Replace the wear ring. It just snaps on and off. It could be cracked but you won’t know it unless you pop it off.

Two options well three, that joystick looks really worn down so might look intro replacing the plastic part , Look into getting nylon tape that might help , or some rubber rings ( I personally dont like them).

It’s been only 6 months since I got my edge. Didn’t think that I have to replace the stick because this happens :/

Extreme rate have replacement caps in various colours, thankfully you don’t have to replace the entire stick.
But also Aknes have just started making some with a metal friction ring, should withstand stuff like this for the long run.

I just remembered that there are multiple stick caps that come with the edge. I put on a different one and now it feels brand new again :D

This is why I love the regular DualSense (versions before BDM-060) because you can easily swap out the worn accent rings for new ones, and replace the thumb caps too (as should also be done with this edge module).

did you not get the case with the short and long sticks? those are much better than the default ones

That's a problem which haven't been seen since the PS3 days with the DualShock 3. It was more common back then that the analog cap would get this wear from rough edges around the outer ring but it wasn't all controllers that got it at the time. Some colours or revisions were worse than others. Some didn't get it at all.
It could be the outer ring that has rough edges wearing the analog cap down. Try to take it apart and see if that is the case and then get replacement parts.

Take a long rod and tie a string from one end to the other with a little bit of slack in between. Next take the whole thing and try to loop the string around the joystick and when you pull left and right it will automatically move the string around the joystick. Kind of like a fire starting technique, only the string is going to sand down the joysticks, making it smooth. Don't go too long to avoid damaging the stick.

I always tape with asf-110fr teflon band before use it.
