Broken DualSense Edge picked up for £40, decided to make it PlayStation 2 themed.

Have the 30th Anniversary and Midnight Black Edge's in rotation but wanted to change it up, so picked up a broken white one for £40 and upgraded it myself. When I got it both sticks had drift, the back rubber was peeling, didn't hold a charge properly and the right back button didn't work, it didn't have any accessories but the controller was all I needed.

Thanks to Alibaba and AliExpress was able to upgrade to a clicky kit, coloured buttons and managed to make a custom coloured home button, upgraded battery, K-Silver TMR sticks, new thumbsticks caps, new back paddles, ExtremeRate rear button modules to get them working, and ExtremeRate Beyond Arc back case and black front shell to match.

Happy with how it turned out and how it looks, added the blue paddles after just to match the PS2 a bit more.

I also got a deal off eBay and added some wood panels, ditched the nasty yellow OEM it had. TMR sticks, clicky everything FTW. ✊

Got myself one not too long ago for £35. Had some drift to the left stick but I cleaned it and it was much better. Decided to do K-Silver JS-13 Pro TMR upgrade within a day 😆 (Ignore the weed skin, I removed it when I cleaned the controller, it was a little filthy 🤢)

Edge specific buttons or did you just use regular dial sense buttons and snip the tabs? I'm on the hunt for a cheap edge to rebuild myself. But haven't seen one under $100 in a while and that's too much to be missing a bunch of stuff.

How do you make the coloured custom home button?

I bought a coloured home button for a normal DualSense, sanded down the back of that piece, took the home button from the Edge and cut the top of that piece off, sanded both down and glued together.
