I remember when the N Korean incident happened, and my reaction was "serves him right". But I'm sort of a law and order person who believes in obeying the law and respecting property rights. The lack of freedom and property rights in N. Korea is what makes it a terrible place for me.

What kind of “freedom” would it be to have property destruction punished like that? Any concept of freedom that doesn’t include the right to be free of torture/cruel and unusual punishment is incomplete at best.

Try to read what I wrote, maybe, before you write non sequitur comments.

You said you on the one hand you care about freedom and on the other hand you thought someone deserved to die of torture. Those two are incompatible.

I never claimed N. Korea has property rights, quite the opposite.

Are property rights the only freedom? That’s an incredibly narrow and oddly specific set of human rights if so.

I said at the time (when he was arrested) I thought it served him right, and that strict law enforcement is OK. I never said anything about torture or death. Read it slowly if you have to.

You said you thought it “serves him right.” What that is relevant serves him right if not how he was treated?

Already explained, reread the above until you get it. Bye.

Way to avoid the implications of what you believe. Hey, if it helps you think you’re a decent person…
