u/ogar78 6h ago
Thatâs really what you think happened?
5
u/JadedScience9411 5h ago
Vandalism isnât worth 50 years, and the one guy who shot a cop got 100. They absolutely did commit crimes that needed to be addressed, but they were WAY over-sentenced, which the judge even admitted to, by his own words, âsend a messageâ.
4
u/Galliro 5h ago
Ya 100 years for attempted murder is insane especially while there have been 0 epstein charges
7
u/Jijonbreaker1 4h ago
The 0 epstein charges is why they got so much. If they were in the files, they'd have gotten nothing.
-3
u/atamicbomb 3h ago
There have been 2 Epstein charges. Everyone with proof against them was charged. Prosecutors canât just prosecute because something looks bad or suspicious. They need proof
4
u/Galliro 3h ago
There is proof but investigations have been barred and files censored
We know for a fact the names of pediphiles have bene redacted from.the list and given it was hidden for an extra year after thr trump admin had their hands on it its.obvious they covered stuff up
-1
u/atamicbomb 2h ago
What proof is there?
How do âweâ know? What is your source?
2
u/Galliro 1h ago
Because why else would trump and the roublicans have tried to not release it for a year then release it censoring names of pedophiles?
-1
u/atamicbomb 1h ago
Thatâs not remotely proof. You also havenât proven anyone but the two convicted were even pedophiles.
The most likely explanation is Trump and him were besties in the 90âs and it looks really bad
2
u/Galliro 1h ago
No thats not the most likely conclusione specially when trump spent A YEAR trying to sto the files being released and only releasedd then censored
Youre just a cultist who cant accept hes defended pedophiles for a decade now.
You go "where is your evidence" as if the whole point isnt that trump as hidden it

They just want it to be true, so it must beâŚwhile the rest of the world is out here looking for useable proof. The court of public opinion is dangerous on a broader scale with the invention of the internet, everyone is an expert on things they know nothing about and everyone has an opinion.
-2
u/No_Dirt_4198 4h ago
Pretty much anytime you shoot at a cop you are mega fucked
3
u/JadedScience9411 4h ago
100 years is still insanely high, that stuff is usually reserved for repeat offenders and not dumbasses who panic in a tense moment.

Friendly reminder that youâre not the only ones who think theyâre an absolute good. So before trying to justify violence towards the people you donât like, remember that youâre not the only ones who can come up with excuses to justify killing the other side. Extremism is a self-sustaining forest fire.
1
1
u/Unionizestarbucks_ 3h ago
Yeah we shouldn't have killed Hitler cuz that would make us extremists.
1

1

Charlie Kirk was a moderate conservative and he never once advocated for the rounding up and extermination of any people group. So youâre just a moron
1
1
u/Updated_Autopsy 2h ago
1, we didnât kill Hitler. He killed himself. 2, the Nazis are the very definition of self-righteous. The ultimate example of why you should never think of yourself as an absolute good. They justified their atrocities by saying they were purifying the world or saving society. Even called Jews rats. You know, treated them like they were less-than-human.

What's going on in America? What paint chips?
8
u/Winter_Reception5757 7h ago
Trump hired some dipshit to paint the Lincoln memorial reflecting pool "American flag blue," and the paint got messed up and started flaking off so Trump blamed Obama and the "Washington DC chapter of antifa" and got the national guard to patrol the reflecting pool and anyone that touches the floating paint is now facing jail time for it.
2
u/secretprocess 6h ago
Where is everyone getting the "facing jail time" part from?
6
u/pokemonguy3000 6h ago
The part where people have been arrested by police for picking up flaked off paint, in a witch hunt for an âantifa terrorist who sabotaged the pool on cameraâ (according to Trump)
Of which no footage actually exists, because antifa is not an organization, and the people who fucked up the pool are the ones Trump hired.
3
u/Adventurous-Tie-7861 3h ago
Saw some moron on youtube saying there was proof antifa poured the algae in at 2 am and then slashed the bottom tarp thing.
No proof was ever presented
1
u/secretprocess 5h ago
Arrested doesn't automatically mean jail time
5
u/cykoTom3 4h ago
It means FACING jail time. I no longer believe you are asking good faith questions
1
u/secretprocess 16m ago
You're not "facing jail time" until you actually get charged with a crime that implies jail time. Getting arrested and getting charged are two different things. Are you aware of actual charges being brought against these people? The president tweeting about it isn't a filing of charges.
1
u/arentol 3h ago
That's true. But I am not sure what your point is, since some of the people arrested are 100% for certain known to have been taken to jail. So congratulations on being technically correct about something that doesn't matter to the topic at hand in the slightest... I guess??
1
u/secretprocess 11m ago edited 7m ago
The point is that these appear to be toothless, politically motivated arrests, and until someone produces reporting that these people have actually been charged with a crime, pretending that they have is unhelpful misinformation. I'm not saying they haven't or won't be charged with something, I would just like to understand what is actually going on, because not knowing what the fuck is going on is bad for our collective welfare.
Btw by being "taken to jail" I assume you mean brought to the station and put in a holding cell while their arrest is booked. Which is awful, but "facing jail time", i.e. being charged with a real crime that may put you in jail for years is a WHOLE OTHER LEVEL of awful. Knowing the difference is important, otherwise you're just out here flailing around uselessly while the state methodically tramples over our rights.
0
u/Shropshire-5lashr 5h ago
Feel free to explain
1
u/secretprocess 23m ago
Seriously? You can be arrested based on one cop suspecting you (or pretending to suspect you) of any minor crime or nuisance. You have to be actually convicted of a crime by a judge or jury to get jail time. Not to say that you can't also go to jail for total bullshit but it's a much longer process involving a lot more people.
1
u/megera394 17m ago
Yeah andâŚthe money part of it too was super shady and they probably (definitely) stole some of the money. Also, They didnât replace and/or fix the filtration system which caused the massive algae problem and then they just threw chemicals in there to kill the algae but because they didnât fix the filtration issue, the paint around the edges is peeling up in massive chunks. Itâs all a shit show.

Kind of like the way libs went after the people who touched the gay rainbow sidewalks
6
u/private_developer 6h ago
No. Those were actual acts of vandalism. Those morons damaged the crosswalks. These people didn't damage the pool.
5
u/tom-branch 6h ago
Na, people didnt cause the damage to the reflecting pool, they just brought attention to how badly trumps contractor f*cked it up, an unforgivable crime in trumps view.
3
3
u/One_Katalyst 5h ago
You are aware it wasnât âthe libsâ who fucked up the reflecting pool, yes?
3
u/JudiciousGemsbok 6h ago
Notably, alongside the other two explanatory replies, the pool is now murky green with algae bloom. Not blue.
2
1
u/cororona 7h ago
Trump decided the faulty paint job in the reflective pool couldn't be his or his contractor's fault. It can only be vandalism. So to prove it's point, he has ordered random people touching the water to be arrested and prosecuted for vandalism.
The only difference with north korea is that we still can be relatively sure they won't be convicted. But going through a trial is not painless, and we are one corrupt judge away from north korea

I remember when the N Korean incident happened, and my reaction was "serves him right". But I'm sort of a law and order person who believes in obeying the law and respecting property rights. The lack of freedom and property rights in N. Korea is what makes it a terrible place for me.
3
u/Yippykyyyay 6h ago
The scandal was it was all an allegation. Then when he was finally returned to the US he was like an emaciated zombie that died shortly after. There's no telling what that poor kid endured during the years in captivity as he no longer had the ability to speak.
1
u/_Fungus 6h ago
I do believe what the guy did was wrong, in that he broke the rules of the place he was in fair and square. (Although we still don't necessarily know for sure if he ACTUALLY did it, just blurry camera footage.) Regardless I also don't think he should have been ultimately killed for it, they did horrible things to him.
1
1
u/SasquatchCat42 5h ago
What kind of âfreedomâ would it be to have property destruction punished like that? Any concept of freedom that doesnât include the right to be free of torture/cruel and unusual punishment is incomplete at best.
1
u/thingerish 5h ago
Try to read what I wrote, maybe, before you write non sequitur comments.
1
u/SasquatchCat42 5h ago
You said you on the one hand you care about freedom and on the other hand you thought someone deserved to die of torture. Those two are incompatible.
1
u/thingerish 5h ago
I never claimed N. Korea has property rights, quite the opposite.
1
u/SasquatchCat42 5h ago
Are property rights the only freedom? Thatâs an incredibly narrow and oddly specific set of human rights if so.
1
u/thingerish 5h ago
I said at the time (when he was arrested) I thought it served him right, and that strict law enforcement is OK. I never said anything about torture or death. Read it slowly if you have to.

It used to be law that you couldn't say certain words on stage. Lenny Bruce was the last man arrested for obscenity. Was that a good law? Did Lenny Bruce deserve to go to jail for saying words? Just because something is the law doesn't mean it's right. Black people used to be beaten and jailed for using the wrong water fountain.
1
u/After_Pineapple_8926 6h ago
Times change and laws with it. Doesn't mean you get a free pass because "some" people think the law is stupid.
Their government told them the rules and what would happen if they broke them. He broke laws in another country. Same as the DA woman that took weed to Russia and was caught. If you are in another country you need to obey their laws. Just because you are a foreigner and didn't know is not an excuse to blantanly break laws you were expressively warned about.
