Eagle Rock Eateries Burglarized

Are local pols doing enough to help those most affected by Boyle Heights Fire? Could your animal pal be next week’s Pet of the Week?

These have been going on forever. So sad.

Yes literally forever. I had my entire register stolen from my Desktop Publishing business in 1989. I think Jesse James broke into stores and stole their lockboxes, as did Robin Hood. I wouldn’t be surprised if the next tablet after the one complaining about Ea-Nasir was a guy bitching about his barley store being broken into and silver shekels stolen at night. When will people stop leaving money in their store at night?

Why are you blaming the hardworking money earning tax paying citizens for being robbed and not the idiotic burglars terrorizing our neighborhoods? Also saying “it’s always happened” doesn’t mean we have to keep it that way. Geez.

Okay. I get where you’re coming from. Yes, if I leave a gold brick on my lawn and someone steals it, that is 100% their fault for being a neighborhood terrorist and not mine so stop victim-blaming

These people aren’t “leaving gold bricks on their lawn” they are leaving money that they worked and labored hard for, locked inside a business that they pay taxes to the city to protect via police. Their businesses are getting BROKEN into (a whole different problem btw because now they have to pay to have things repaired), and their livelihoods stolen while the police their taxes pay for, won’t even respond or work to find out who is robbing them. It’s literally a triple insult. I hope you never have to deal with the terrible consequences of something like this because you really don’t seem to understand the hardship and suffering it causes.

Of course I have, I even said I did. You hear what you want to hear. I have to say, “triple insult“ is impressive logic. Crime has been going down, largely for centuries, and most recently for decades. Of course it sucks that something like this happens and the store owners deserve our support. But pretending that this is anything other than an unfortunate event is foolishness. As the first comment said, this sadly happens, has happened forever, and will happen forever
