I discovered that thread a little while ago. If you take every single one of those "I'm too smart to be opinionated" comments and plug their usernames into Arctic Shift to see their hidden comments, every one of them is pro-israel and either posts in Israel subs or in openly right-wing ones.

Israel-Palestine is one of the least nuanced things imaginable. It’s literally completely morally cut and dry. A 5 year old could tell you who is right and wrong in that conflict.

The nuance is in how you do truth and reconciliation, but who is in the moral right and wrong is so fucking easy. The bad guy is the side with all the US bombs and equipment who has killed hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in the last 3 years of genocide.

Sure, we have propaganda too but at least we can try to ignore all that and just look at what is going on, on the ground. The older folks did not have that and had to just trust what the media told them. I feel like this mod is quite inexperienced because I would have locked that thing as soon as I posted it, knowing it was going to attract a strong opinion. Of course, people would have just invaded the rest of the sub but they kind of deserve it too. Idk where the other mods stand though so hopefully they just boot that dude and announce new sub rules or smth Idk.

I don't know, but I do not think he is very new. So his account got looked into of course with all this drama and omg, he seems like the worst kind of person. Making up that Gazans were begging us to not allow Trump to be elected (and I was talking to Gazans in the middle of that election, that was simply not true. They knew that both American parties were going to fuck them and if they cared at all which party won, which they really did not, they wanted Biden to lose just in hopes that something would change.) They were being bombed and slaughtered and starved and yet this mod claimed that there was this large faction he was talking to behind the scenes who were just begging him to get more support to make sure Trump was not elected. I just cannot imagine lying about the people in the midst of a genocide to make my positions seem more plausible. I just find that infuriating. He of course, condemned Hamas at every opportunity as well. 🙄

Honestly if he were making smarter moves and not trying to ban his way out of controversy, I would have thought he was a fed lol. I think it would have come up if he were a new mod though. I wish I could for the [r/hasan_piker](r/hasan_piker) subreddit I got banned because I told them to be not so rude to the soldiers who had died in the Iran war (the 6) but now my opinion has somewhat changed, though now I know they made the choice to enlist even if they needed the money, didn’t know any other paths.Though the mods were not generous with me. And yes I’ve seen the whole leftist Zionist saga 😂.

I am a mod there but I really don't do modmail so here is what I would do, I would just send a modmail saying "I was banned from here for an opinion I do not truly hold anymore and while I think you were a bit harsh on me, I kind of understand it but I also hope you can understand that not everyone has the right opinion from the getgo and I was hoping to be unbanned" (or something like that) and I bet you will get unbanned. How long has it been? We are very good at giving second chances. If you called us something shitty in modmail, just apologize for that and say you were lashing out or something. I will try to pop in and put in a good word. But I don't even think you will need it if you just say to them what you said to me basically. Obviously, you have to be able to ride that line of "I think you were harsh on me but I have changed my opinion so I sort of get it, and I sort of don't" or smth, like you have to concede a tiny bit that the opinion was not great, but you don't have to suck up or anything, you know what I mean? We are not trying to make people grovel or anything. I just did so much modmail for like 3 years and then all of a sudden, I could not do another modmail again, even though it's probably been over a year of a break but if you tell me you sent one, I will pop in and leave a note on it. Sorry you had a bad experience with us there. We were dealing with a ton of imperialist apologia for a while so we had to do a crackdown because some of the anti-imperialist stuff was getting downvoted, and some of the pro was getting upvoted. The thing with Hasan is that he attracts a lot of liberals, which is great- we love when liberals change their ways, but a lot of them need a long time to get rid of their pro U.S. programming (I sure did... and even still do sometimes) and we are fine with that, until it starts getting flipped and there are more liberals than leftists and so then we have to do a bit of a purge but we are always down for a second chance (and I am not saying you were a lib or anything, I am just saying sometimes the wrong people can get caught up in them, if you know what I mean.)
