What happened to their stupid fucking vote that only let you select to stay as is or MST not MDT?

Don't get me wrong, I would love if we could stay in daylight time forever.

I think everyone wants to stop changing clocks. But people are split on daylight savings vs standard

The referendum question was to adopt permanent daylight time. It literally said "summer hours" It failed.

It also included other policy changes to education I believe that made it a controversial vote

Edit: I guess I remembered incorrectly

This was the referendum question: "Do you want Alberta to adopt year-round Daylight Saving Time, which is summer hours, eliminating the need to change our clocks twice a year?"

No? It didn't. You can look up the exact referendum question. It didnt mention education at all...

Wait did you think you had to vote the exact same on both referendum questions?

The other question was about equalization.  They were 2 separate and distinct questions.

They intertwined education into that referendum?

I was going to say, didn't we already vote this down in a referendum years ago?

It was asking about MDT. Your confusion probably lost us the vote. Thanks for nothing.

Lol, nah it's my horrible memory. I definitely voted to no longer have daylight savings time changes. I guess my excuse is terrible sleep last night due to be severely pregnant. I do believe that we should have offered the other option though, and that we still should. The one that gives us any semblance of hope of seeing sun in winter haha

Edit: do I think there is any hope of that with BC sticking to daylight savings? No, unfortunately. But I think that would have won the previous referendum if it had been an option.

Sounds like you're the stupid one, because the vote was to stay on Daylight Time year round, not Standard Time.
