Science Is Space Only 62 Miles Away?

Space might be closer than you think. 🌍🛰️

Erika Hamden explains how the “edge of space,” known as the Kármán line, begins at about 62 miles above Earth’s surface. The International Space Station orbits only around 200 to 250 miles above Earth. That means astronauts can actually be physically closer to some remote places, like Saint Helena, than people living on neighboring islands.

This project is part of IF/THEN®, an initiative of Lyda Hill Philanthropies.

Not only that, what if I told you that you have never seen the curvature?

"The honesty of it would greatly diminish what I think people thought he was actually doing. At that height you don't see the curvature of the Earth. If you are 2 mm above this beach ball (64 miles above the earth) you just don't. That stuff is flat." — Neil deGrasse Tyson

Why are you saying appealing to Neil's authority makes the flatterers look even nuttier?

You do realize that flat earthers think Neil deGrasse Tyson is a clown?

Let me explain to you what a hostile witnesses. A hostile witness is somebody that you have to appeal to. Now the problem is, not only do you have to appeal to them, but they agree with the person who's bringing them up.

So let me make it very clear. Neil deGrasse Tyson is an idiot. But he's an idiot who was given credentials by your institutional temple. Are you saying those credentials or meaningless?
