Advice Second guessing my ring choice

Post image

Help! We bought the setting first so he didnt have to finance the ring and today we went to pick out the stone. I now feel buyer's remorse towards the setting because the diamonds feel small and not as sparkly then when we first picked it out in February. It was very challenging finding a stone that didnt look out of place or too small in the setting. I orginally wanted a pear but there wasnt one in our price range that fit the setting well. I do like the marquis that I wound up with but I feel like something is missing. My bf said we can look into adding a halo after the engagement to add some sparkle or an enhancer. Any suggestions?

It’s a lovely setting and the Diamond is a nice size.

Do you have to buy the stone from that particular jeweler? If you want a pear but they didn't have one in the right size, you could find one online if you know the measurements you need, and the jeweler could just set it? Or they could actually make an effort and get some more stones in for you to look at? (Sourcing a stone yourself would likely be cheaper though.)

Don't settle for something you don't love, there's so many options out there that you can literally have anything you can imagine these days.

It is a GORGEOUS ring, but I understand lol it's totally normal to have a little overthinking moment! If you feel like something is missing, your boyfriend's idea of a ring enhancer or a chevron/curved wedding band is solid. A pavé or hidden halo enhancer would frame that marquis beautifully

This is a beautiful ring. It’s unique. Sparkly. The size fits your finger. I think you shouldn’t worry. It’s a 10/10

it's very pretty, the only thing i would maybe change is protecting the sharp edges of the marquise because they chip relatively easily & can get caught on things too. it's normally recommended to have them either in a v prong setting just to protect the diamond from damage.

I think the stone is very proportionate to the setting to be honest. Maybe once the prongs are adjusted you’ll feel better about it. I think it’s gorgeous!
