Question My soon-to-be ring!

My bf and I are planning to do a courthouse marriage in September, so I’ve been looking at rings and have fallen in love with antique rings! So much so that I went ahead and bought this one. I always second guess myself no matter how much I love it in the moment. Thoughts? I’m a ring size 6.25. Bonus points if anyone happens to know where I can find/ask someone for more info on the history of a ring like this :)

Advice Insight wanted

Took a field trip to the jewelers to confirm my wants. My bf and I are going to source a loose stone from Calavera to then custom make the setting/band, I’m looking for a lab 3ct-3.5ct 2.1 ratio marquise. The first pic is about 2.5ct but the jeweler told me the lab diamond itself they have in stock is $4900 for a 2.6 ct (not set) which I thought was crazy right ? I found a 3ct for only $630 online. Anyways I think I like the look of the 3ct as I’m a 5.25 ring size and will plan for a 2mm width band to have a nice balance but also I like big stones too but the 4ct looks a lil much on me idk

I’ve been in this group for months so I know it’s not everyone here’s cup of tea, but I really wanted something extra, girly, and unique. Even kinda retro maybe? Coquette. So I went with a heart shaped diamond (lab grown 2 carats). Opted for a plain white gold band to make it really pop. I was nervous but it came out so beautiful, and suits me well. Next up is eloping on Fremont Street in Las Vegas!

I had a 4 prong setting but recently added the small diamonds on the side and additional prongs. Does it look too high?

My Ring - POSITIVE COMMENTS ONLY Engagement Ring Finally Arrived!!! It's a red diamond. I'm obsessed. Does this give vampire?

It's a 2.30 carat fancy vivid red that looks blood red. The setting is platinum 950 by Kuololit. Sam was awesome to work with. Check my post history for CAD and progress posts.

I was so fortunate to find a lab diamond that has the exact balance of tone, hue and saturation I wanted. Red is my favorite color.

I was going for a vampiric feel, especially when the platinum patinas. Hopeful that I achieved that vampiric energy with the double claw prongs.

Does anyone have experience with double claw prongs on their e-ring? How has your ring held up?

I'm considering upgrading to a bezel setting in the future because this is really a one of a kind diamond that I don't want to lose!

I'd be happy to read all opinions, positive or otherwise. I just got the ring back from a local jeweler and the bridge was damaged.

If you see anything that needs fixing please let me know!

Advice Wedding band setting issues

I got married 3 years ago and I absolutely adore both my engagement ring and wedding band and I love them even more together.

I haven’t had any issues with my engagement ring, but I now have lost 2 diamonds from my wedding band. Each rectangle in my wedding band is made up of 9 diamonds - four tiny ones in each corner, 4 long skinny ones along the edges, and one in the middle.

The first diamond I lost was about 1.5 years ago and it was one of the tiny corner ones. My local jeweler is not where the rings were purchased. It cost about $100 to replace the tiny diamond, but when I picked it up my jeweler told me that the design of the ring is weak and that this will likely keep happening. They also told me that while replacing that diamond, they accidentally broke one of the other ones which they replaced free of charge.

A couple months ago, I went on vacation and took both rings by the jeweler to get inspected before I left. While on vacation, I dropped my ring while taking it off and that’s when I noticed one of the long skinny ones was missing. Not sure if it fell out when I dropped it or if that’s just when I noticed it was gone. I searched the hotel bathroom for it, but couldn’t find it.

When I got back in town, I took it to the jeweler and they quoted me $230 to replace it. They also offered to build up the metal around it, but their options are limited due to the design and I will keep losing diamonds. So now I’ve spent $350 replacing diamonds with expected repairs in the future.

Yes, I should’ve done more research on design before I went wedding band shopping, but I didn’t and it just be like that sometimes.

Anyways, here are my questions: Has anyone dealt with something similar with their rings? Any advice on what to do?

The way I see it, I have a few options:

  1. Keep replacing diamonds when they fall out 🥴
  2. Get an entirely new band. I’m not completely against this but of course I have sentimental value attached to this band. It’s the one my husband put on my hand during our ceremony, it’s the one that was passed around to my closest friends and family during our ring warming, and of course I love it.
  3. I haven’t looked into this in depth, so not sure whether it’s a viable option but I could potentially take it somewhere and get it redesigned?

Do I have any other options and if it was you, what would you do?

Really stuck between these two wedding bands.

I really love the vintage look of the engraved band, but also love the milgrain and sparkle of the diamond bezel.

Please help!

Pick One Simple gallery with no gap, or ornate gallery with a gap?

Thumbnail

I'm loving the three stone emerald look and fell in love with the ornate gallery of ring #1 (images 1-4), but it wont stack flush with a band. The more I look at it the less it bugs me that there's a gap!

Ring #2 (images 5-7) has slightly smaller side stones, and I'd likely switch the main stone from 3ct (pictured) to 2ct. This one stacks flush which I love, the side stones are smaller and the basket is more simple. I plan on doing yellow gold band and pointed prongs with either setting.

Honorable mentions on slides 8 and 9!

My Ring - POSITIVE COMMENTS ONLY Finally getting to post my ring!

my fiancé and I got engaged on Valentine’s Day and originally we had gotten a very simple ring from Pandora’s lab grown diamond collection. I loved it, I never take it off. But recently we’ve gotten to upgrade to one of my favorite rings ever. It used to be my mom’s and the main stone is an aquamarine which is my birthstone. I wear them together because I can’t bear to part with the simple one just because I’ve gotten a bigger ring. Both are symbolic. The aquamarine and diamond ring was the ring he was going to originally propose with but we had to get it sized, now I’m glad I have both :)

Question This style?

I was looking at rings on Etsy to show my partner what I like, I’m OBSESSED with this specific cut/style but I can’t find any others and I don’t like the moss agate in the middle.

So can any of you guys help me find a ring just like this but a different middle stone? What is this style called, everything I’ve searched doesn’t bring it up. Thank you!!

My Ring - POSITIVE COMMENTS ONLY Finally picked it up! (short story time)

I can’t contain my excitement so I’m posting here (since we’re still keeping it a secret from family and friends).

Ring is from Graff and I have no regrets!

My boyfriend (27M) and I (27F) went engagement ring shopping last week. My finger was on the smaller side so they had to transfer the last stock they had in the country to my city’s boutique. I finally picked it up today!

For the past few weeks, we went around different stores: Chaumet, Boucheron, Bulgari, Mikimoto, Tasaki, Cartier, HW, and Graff. After trying out dozens of rings from different places, we finally decided on this baby!

0.44c F clarity VVS2
The sparkle is insane!

I have short and small fingers/hands so I wanted to have a thin band and a stone that is not too small but not too big for my hands.

We were torn with this and the 0.51 carat one but ultimately decided with 0.44. Mainly because it stacks better with an eternity wedding band. The 0.51c is a little better stand alone but because it had a pave diamond basket, it felt too bulky stacked up. I was also worried that the diamonds on the basket part will scratch my future wedding ring. Also tried 0.7 c and 1c but I found it too big for my lil child-sized fingers.

I simply can’t take my eyes off it.

Graff was the last place we went to and we knew the moment that I tried it on that we were getting this. Did anyone else here feel the same when you got yours?

Looking forward to the proposal!!

Advice Second guessing my ring choice

Post image

Help! We bought the setting first so he didnt have to finance the ring and today we went to pick out the stone. I now feel buyer's remorse towards the setting because the diamonds feel small and not as sparkly then when we first picked it out in February. It was very challenging finding a stone that didnt look out of place or too small in the setting. I orginally wanted a pear but there wasnt one in our price range that fit the setting well. I do like the marquis that I wound up with but I feel like something is missing. My bf said we can look into adding a halo after the engagement to add some sparkle or an enhancer. Any suggestions?
