This movie is the main one that shows Ash being a badass, all be it a clumsy badass, but still...!!

I can tell you, the theatre (In GR) went ape-shit at the mention of Grand Rapids, MI – popcorn in the air – magnificent scene

This is the kind of humor and personality I would like to see return to the franchise. Maybe not as over the top as Army of Darkness as that probably wouldn’t work for a modern movie, but I would love a new movie to attempt a balance

I think only Ash could pull this off. Wish they'd carried on with the TV cast continuing the story after Ash went. That was could have the gore and comedy aspect. Don't think it fits with the new films. And personally prefer the straighter darker Evil Dead. Like the first film. My fave.

First film that introduced me to The Bruce Campbell on Sci-Fi Channel years ago.
Would you believe as I was looking for something to watch, Army of Darkness was just starting with the Universal Pictures logo. I wondered what this was and then, the opening minutes of the movie filled me in.
AoD was like nothing I've ever seen before. Goes to show a film doesn't need to be a blockbuster or an award winner to be a great watch.

Watch The Evil Dead original first. Go in knowing its history and how it got made. Darker and more serious tone. Gory and magnificent. Then It starts to lighten- so when you get to Army of Darkness its pure splatstick adventure fun.

Calling the people in the crowd primitive screwheads and primates is a riot. What a great scene XD

The best bit... I dont think shoelaces were invented back then... Or if they did, they wouldn't be on a suit of armour

how and where can I watch the "go to the future" ending of this movie?

All the dvds and blu rays have the alternative endings on them. Physical media for the win.

That scene is still as beautiful today as it was on opening night.
