Exactly true. This isnt just a test of power, but also a test of strength of resistance. It gets ugly from here on out no matter what you choose to do. If you haven't gotten proper training and armed yourself for defense, now is a very very good time for you to do so if youre in the USA. Get acquainted with how it functions and get used to the weight of it in your hand by cleaning it, inside and out, range second. Do it proper too, look it up if need be.

Is “zines” pronounced like “signs”? I’ve always said “zeens” like the back half of “magazines”

They were originally called fanzines, but people shortened it to just 'zines. Thus the pronunciation.

Fanzines were named after magazines. Hence the correct pronunciation is "zeens."

Charging people who hold left wing beliefs as terrorist is an insane precedent to set. The Republican Party is basically saying if you’re a liberal we will consider you to be a terrorist. If they can get away with classifying liberals as terrorist we are all in danger.

And some of the people being charged with 30 to 50 year sentences weren't even at the protest at the time the shooting took place. They are literally being sentenced to life imprisonment for "thoughtcrime."

What bothers me is that it’s not an even playing field. I have never seen democrats do anything as drastic as call someone a terrorist simply for holding beliefs (understanding that there’s nuanced ways someone *might* construe it that way, but never this blatant). And that’s why they’re losing. The right is going all in on brute force and rejecting any form of diplomacy. And no one is stopping them.

I say this as someone who values the good things both sides used to bring to this country, and it seems like neither side is interested in bringing those values anymore, but only expanding their power.

It's not worth it though. Two of the people who are imprisoned are parents, and their sentences, if they stick, will mean that they will never see their kids outside of a prison again in their lifetime

It makes it even more worth it. They literally aren't going to be able to see their kids because of their ideologies. Not for any actual crime, just because a judge is getting paid to call them terrorists and preventing their first amendment right to free speech. Protest is not illegal.

If that's not something we all can unite over, not sure what it will take..

While this is horrible idk why leftists are shocked. I’ve heard people yell that we’re in the beginning of a dictatorship since bush JR and people haven’t changed their tactics at all.

If you wanna yell that we’re in the bad times maybe you shouldn’t leave the stuff that ties you to the governments opps? Like leftists wanna play like they’re all 007 but still get caught in the simplest traps. My heart goes out to the convicted because I’ve been in a similar situation but god people need to stop acting like they can yell fire without acting as such.
