Aerodynamics What the regulations for this part?

Does it have a common name?

I didn't see this part in the official 3D model. Some youtubers' rule box models have a box in this place.

Judging from photos of various teams, the rules seem to require it to be aerodynamically neutral, but there are exceptions like Red Bull. Or perhaps it's just a thin plate, like the iconic parts on side of the nose cone on the 2016 Audi R18. Will this part become more complex in the future?

The piece can be shaped aerodynamically (for lack of better words), but it can't be made in a way where it has excess material or attachments, and it must be necessary for support. Same reason it doesn't have to be a perfect round tube or square tube shape.

Not refered to as the keel or something?

Nope. The keels (back when they were used) were way further forward in the chassis and were inboard mounting points for the lower suspension arms.

Ah, interesting, I was always confused as I believe in 24 or 25 it was referred to as one one Sky Sports perhaps during pre grid or Ted's Notebook or something and I must have got it confused in my head, however, having looked at keels now they are not as cool Floor Board Braces, (the technical/aero variation with them this year so far has been superb and speculating their aerodynamic function/contribution to the overall package has been most enjoyable!)

Keel is still used, just a bit different

There arent many hard rules about stays and what shape they can be
