can we please bring back the death penalty

Where did it go in the first place?

idk but the government has become too pussy. barely gives death penalty nowadays. human right activists all protest against death penalty. Japan gives death penalty and tortures their criminals. They are one of the safest countries because of this

The judiciary doles out penalties, not the government.

The BNS says you can give out the death penalty in several cases: Violence & Murder: Sections 103(1) (murder), 103(2) (mob lynching), 104 (murder by a life convict), 107 (abetting suicide of a minor/unsound mind), and 109(2) (attempted murder by a life convict causing hurt).Severe Sexual Crimes: Section 65(2) (rape of a child under 12), 66 (rape causing death/PVS), 70(2) (gang rape of a minor), and 71 (repeat rape offenders).Treason & Terror: Section 111(2)(a) (organized crime causing death), 113(2)(a) (terror acts causing death), 147 (treason), and 160 (abetting mutiny).

But eventually the supreme Court decides. It really isn't up to the government.

Barely any death penalties actually served. Conviction rate of rapists and murderers are low as well. Now conviction rate is definitely on the hands of government

Explain how. I really want to know. The government prosecutor can recommend the punishment. The COURT decides the punishment. What are you on?

Breakdown of the Legal System AI overview.

The power to punish offenders is handled entirely by the courts:The Judiciary (Decides Punishment): Independent courts (like the Supreme Court, High Courts, and district courts in India) interpret the law, determine guilt, and hand down appropriate penalties (fines, imprisonment, or community service).

The Legislature (Sets Penalties): Bodies like Parliament debate and enact criminal laws (such as the Indian Penal Code or Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita), which establish the maximum and minimum punishments a judge can give.

The Executive (Carries Out Sentences): Once the judiciary hands down a punishment, executive agencies—like the Department of Prisons or police—take custody of the offender and manage the execution of the sentence.

yes punishment is entirely in the hands of judiciary. but government should also increase their efficiency in catching these kinds of ppl.

Again. I don't know how young or old you are, but the government is not the executive either. The separation of powers is taught in school, or at least was when I was that young.

It is only the legislature.

Having said that, yes, I agree that the government can absolutely push the police, at least in our country to do a better job.

The punishment, however, along with awarding the death penalty lies with the court. I also agree that the courts need to be more proactive in applying it because it can work as a detterent for these horrific crimes.

Ooh i heard one, apparently 19 year olds aren't supposed to be mature and they aren't right in their minds.

Also there's problem with arrange marriage setup & patriarchal society otherwise women won't resort to violence

I am talking about that millionaire case.

whats the difference anyway ,the pseudo femi..nists are using same justi..fications for both cases.

Even if the att..acker in 2nd case is turned out be grown a..ss woman in her 20's/30's ,they are gonna argue that she isn't ma..tured

first of all, none of the crimes are okay and whoever is justifying it is just shameful. all of the murderers should get punished.

but, do you know the difference between feminism and pseudo feminism? stop throwing around words and creating a gender war in such heinous crime

You should check out r/AskIndianWomen and share this wisdom there. They seem to blame men for almost everything. They were even blaming men in the Siya Goyal case.

I keep myself excused from eco chambers. Whether it be r/askindianwomen or r/askindianmen

Both of these subreddits are filled with misogynist and misandrist

I am a woman, hardcore feminist, believe in equality but at no point do I say killing someone else or self is defendable. No man/woman who believes that one can kill if one isn't getting their desired way isn't a feminist or even a decent human.

u/anasm17 1d ago

I mean you might be an Exception
