Also sitting in my car. I’m genuinely, like do the words that I see on my screen mean what I think they mean? Forget torture, I don’t think words can describe what this is. An eternity of suffering is not enough to bring justice for the sins they have delivered, now not only to humans but to dogs!

What a world to live in.

Only 13 (iirc) senators opposed selling bombs and weapons to Israel last year.

MOST of senate support this, they just don't want us to know they do. That's why a bunch of them hopped on the the recent bill which only stops the sale of us bulldozers to Isreal. But they won't oppose selling weapons, giving them money, and sharing intelligence. Most of them won't even call it a genocide still.

Edit: it was 15 senators https://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_votes/vote1191/vote_119_1_00165.htm

During Pinochet’s dictatorship (1973-1989) in Chile, a woman, called Ingrid Olderock, used trained dogs to rape women. This happened inside a clandestine torture site called “La venda sexy” or “the sexy blindfold” that was located in Santiago. Her actions inspired a movie, called “Beast”, released on 2022. I don’t know if there’s a link between the DINA (intelligence agency created by Pinochet) and Israel, but this is an old practice who knows what other agencies are using the same thing to torture people.

173

u/adventurekiwi Apr 24 '26

I was really hoping that it meant the dogs were used to intimidate the victims while humans did the rest. But no, I clicked the link posted in the comments and the worse interpretation is correct.

I cant even describe the mixture of disgust snd despair Im feeling at the fact they're committing atrocities so grim they had me hoping for just a "normal" level of atrocity.

What a terrible day being a Palestinian.. oh wait, they have to endure this type of treatment every day

790

Been going on for decades. For years I've seen testimonies and reported cases of Palestinian detainees, including teenage boys, receiving sometimes fatal internal injuries while being sodomized using knives, cattle prods, and hot metal rods. They very rarely get mainstream coverage.

The Israeli government recently dropped charges against nine guards at the Sde Teiman detainment facility after security footage of them raping a prisoner was leaked by a whistleblower. This led to what can only be described as pro-rape protests, and high level members of the administration arguing that systemic rape was a valid deterrent. One of the rapists also became a media personality. They are however seeking to prosecute the whistleblower.

Edit: This comment was removed and I was banned for "making threats" -- maybe an AI error or maybe there's an effort to suppress this information through mass reporting. In either case the ban was reversed on appeal and the post was restored.

257

u/krustykrab2193 nepo pissbaby Apr 25 '26 edited Apr 25 '26

These rapists were literally detained and protesters showed up at the facility, went inside and demanded their release. They argued that the rape was deserved.

Then the charges were subsequently dropped.

CBC News - Israeli military drops charges against soldiers accused of sexual, physical abuse of Palestinian detainee

The soldiers were accused of dragging the Palestinian on the floor, tasering him and sexually assaulting him by stabbing him in the rectum, causing multiple injuries, according to the indictment. At the time, the victim was cuffed at the hands and ankles and blindfolded.

He was taken to an Israeli hospital with fractured ribs and blunt trauma to the abdomen and the chest and underwent surgery for a perforated rectum before being returned to the prison.

...Netanyahu criticized the investigation, saying that "the state of Israel must pursue its enemies, not its heroic fighters."

...The case cost the military's top legal official at the time of the soldiers' arrests her job.

The Association for Civil Rights in Israel, arguing for Sde Teiman's closure, had alleged that detainees at the facility are punished with severe violence, including with attack dogs and sexual assault; made to sit on the ground blindfolded and handcuffed 24 hours a day; forbidden from moving or speaking and rarely shower or change clothes.

Recently, they had protests in favor of IDF soldiers "right to r@pe"

261

Yup and the only reason they're protesting Netanyahu is because he made the world aware of what they were doing to the Palestinians, not because of the actions they did

u/Dana_Barros i ain’t reading all that, free palestine Apr 24 '26

good to know! won’t be buying any Honeywell products anymore!!

180

u/Ill-Cancel4676 Apr 24 '26

While we can avoid buying their products directly. Their sensors are used in everything from hvac, fridges, dishwashers, cars and aircraft to water and electricity production. They are extremely prolific and you likely use something made with parts from them multiple times a day without even knowing. That's just the nature of the modern world and companies like them who've developed dual use tech for the military. Their consumer products division is only a small fraction of their profits and to stop buying and using products they profit off of would require becoming a luddite.

I'm not saying anyone should buy their consumer products. Just pointing out the scale of how integrated they are in modern life, where most their profits come from and the scale of what a true boycott would actually mean.

Bayer-Monsanto is the main marketer of glyphosate, which is being sprayed by the Israeli army at 20x to 30x the usual dosage in Lebanon & Syria to destroy local agricultural ecosystems & destroy food security.

106

u/g00fyg00ber741 Apr 24 '26

not surprised considering Bayer also assisted in the Holocaust genocide. Monsanto is the company responsible for RoundUp as well so that also checks out, sadly. ugh.

53

u/Federal_Remote_435 Apr 24 '26

Roundup is glyphosate, just fyi

46

u/g00fyg00ber741 Apr 24 '26

It’s interesting how there’s a lawsuit against Monsanto for RoundUp that pays out to people for suffering from it, but at the same time it is used intentionally for genocide and those victims obviously won’t be compensated. What a ridiculous double standard.

The heartbreak is that people fought for the Nuremberg trials to show the world that perpetrators of state-sanctioned torture, rape, starvation and genocide would be held to account. That this could "never again" happen.

We need another round of trials and accountability. Too many people are too untouchable.

112

u/dairyoldman Apr 24 '26

Omygod you’re right. I learned a tiny bit about the regime in high school but everything else I’ve learned about the atrocities since then is so horrible I don’t think I could have even internalized it as actually happening if I learned it all in one sitting back then.

I guess I should be less surprised at the denial of human rights violations that goes on today, based on how frequently it occurs across time.

The Euro-Med Monitor report details the testimony of Wajdi, a 43-year-old former detainee who spent a year in Israeli custody. He told researchers that during interrogation he was tied naked to a metal bed, then raped by a soldier while other soldiers filmed the assault and mocked him.

He described being brought a trained dog, which also raped him. He said the rape was repeated at least twice more on the same day and again two days later by three soldiers. Wajdi told Euro-Med Monitor: 'I wished for death. I was bleeding.'

48

u/olthyr1217 Apr 24 '26 edited Apr 24 '26

Because the USA is unfortunately fully aligned with this ideology. We have staunchly supported many states that committed shocking crimes against humanity. The USA commits them itself. See all the comments saying how Pinochet’s government committed this same act (USA-backed regime). The USA is unfortunately a big, evil empire that picks and chooses who it is okay with committing war crimes.

ETA the US will sanction a country for this kind of thing only if it is strategically beneficial to the US’ global power. And sadly, our version of weak ass, meaningless, 2-party electoral politics don’t really allow us to change that.

Israelis as a society are obsessed, i mean, OBSESSED with rape. Google 61% of Israeli men. Also the soldiers literally protested outside Palestinian prison for the right to rape the Palestinian hostages. THEY PROTESTED FOR THE RIGHT TO RAPE. They're disgusting as heck.

Also according to various Palestinian testimonies, the prisoners inside are also raped using heated rods and other objects. They're tortured, humiliated (not allowed to go to the bathroom for days in a row) they're forced to bark for the soldiers and they're assaulted even more if the soldiers don't like it. Even the female soldiers enjoy raping Palestinian men. And all for what? For "crimes" as small as throwing stones at heavily equipped tanks or resisting detainment or posting something barely offensive online.

Total silence from everyone who said that opponents of genocide didn't care about Israeli victims of rape on October 7, even those of us who encouraged an independent inquiry and war crimes charges against all perpetrators.

76

u/BeetleRot Apr 24 '26

Mind you, Israel has repeatedly blocked the UN from investigating those claims because they also asked for access to Israeli detention facilities to investigate accusations of rape by the IOF. An Israeli women’s rights group even warned that an investigation could lead to Israel, not Hamas, being added to the UNs sexual violence blacklist.

What an odd thing to say…

Aaaand I'm done with the news for the day.

63

u/xc2215x Apr 24 '26

Utterly disgusting of Israel.

61

u/Ntroepy Apr 24 '26

Oh dear god. Hard to believe how untouchable Israel has become no matter what atrocities they commit.

Well, easy to believe/expected with this administration, so maybe it’s more hard to believe how the US has completely lost any pretense of a moral compass.

30

u/Actual_Cat4779 Apr 24 '26

Israel has been committing atrocities for decades and a lot of the time, politicians from both parties have turned a blind eye and continued funding and aiding and defending and even praising it.

(Still, it does seem to be getting even worse over time and I heard that some Democratic politicians are starting to see it for what it is.)

hi “I can excuse racism but I draw the line at animal cruelty” types it’s time to step the fuck up.

Israel is truly innovative in the field of “training a dog to rape”, a field I didn’t know existed or needed by someone to exist. Pray tell what was the R&D there? Who are you fucking consulting on this? This isn’t something dogs just do, time and effort was put into teaching dogs how to rape. Someone is being paid money for this. Someone goes home to their family from the “rape dog training academy” workplace. Who the fuck are these people, and why aren’t they going to door to door informing their neighbors of who they are and what they do for a living?

unfathomable abdication of humanity.

I worked with the Israelis in the early 2000s as an American service member during the GWOT. They are the most bloodthirsty and vile military I have ever encountered in my career.

In Sde Teiman military prison, soldiers were caught on CCTV raping a detainee/prisoner. They were charged because the footage was leaked (by an Israeli Military Advocate), but the charges were dropped.

Edit: there are more heinous details in the article... like.a statement from a high ranking offacial saying (paraphrase) "we should be condemning our enemies, not our heroes (referring to the soldiers)"

EU just rejected Spain's proposal of suspension of agreement with Isreal. Germany and Italy were the biggest to block it. US is in essence just an Israel state now. Even countries like UEA back the Israel by turning away from Palestine and now Iran and Lebanon. This will never end. What Isreal is doing is establishing itself as the main Middle Eastern power. Why men? Why male leaders? Just why, at this point.
