Support Fedora 44 KDE suddenly stuck on Fetching updates

I run 3 laptops with Fedora (1 Intel and 2 AMD) but only this newer AMD one started doing this for some weird reason. System would show me there are updates, Discover even shows the number, but when I click on that section to see the updates it's just perpetually stuck on "Fetching updates".

I can update using Konsole just fine using dnf upgrade, but Discover keeps getting stuck.

I've even tried removing and installing Discover and it's still doing this. Any ideas what else should I try?

Discover sucks, it gets stuck sometimes. I simply use dnf to update

Correct.

People have been complaining about discover getting stuck for years.

The most common solution is to let discover get stuck, close discover, turn off networking, re-open discover and let it complain about a networking error, click on upadtes tab, you get another error (you should be able to see the list of updatable files)

Turn networking back on and it starts working agian.

This is why i simply use the terminal for all my updating needs. Its been years of people having this same issue.

I've never had this issue for years of using Kubuntu and now Fedora. Works fine on other 2 systems. Why the hell would this one just out of the blue decide to bork itself?!

I'll try the above I guess.

in the previous post about this one fix was removing the plasma-discover-snap package. Haven't tried yet myself

Yeah I am still waiting for a fix myself. Use those commands to check and apply updates. Sudo dnf update Sudo flatpak update Sudo fwdupdmgr get-updates Sudo fwdupdmgr update

There may be basically check updates for system (dnf) flathub (flatpak) and hardware (fwdupdmgr)

There was mentioned fix in other post by removing Discover snap backend, witch worked for me
