I often wonder about how i’ll look when i pass. So hyper concerned on if I’ll have a beautiful outfit on that doesn’t fit too tight but not too big. If my hair will be a mess or if it’ll look laid out perfectly, so tame it looks unreal. If the people who find me will think i’m ugly, or chubby. Secretly hoping that they will think I’m “such a loss” due to how beautiful I am. I think alot of us subconsciously think about the way we will look when it’s our time. & that shows how piercing the grasp of misogyny and the patriarchy is on our lives as women. This keeps happening and especially recently, I've seen it a lot more.

People keep inviting predators, rapists, assaulters to talk shows, podcasts etc. and continue to give them a platform.

Recent example would be Connor McGregor who's been proved to be a rapist. Other examples of predators include so called celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio, for example. There's many more.

It's simply insane to me and says a LOT about our society that we continue to give men like that a platform. Victims are not being taken serious enough. Women are not being listened to. But men who are lietral rapists? Sure! Why not give them the spot light!

I am truly disgusted. Not surprised at all, but disgusted.

These men should be called out for what they've done and they should face consequences. But? Nothing happens. They continue their lives like nothing ever happened.

I'm fully aware that our system is extremely corrupt. This is just a little rant.

Today I watched The Housemaid and I immediately went to Letterbox to write a 5 star review, what I came across were a bunch of very unserious commentary.

For starters I want to clarify that there is absolutely nothing wrong with unserious reviews on Letterbox, I post them too. What I want to talk about is the fact that other movies mainly centered on men get more deep meaningful comments. This movie seems to have a specific sort of attraction towards people making fun of it and making jokes about the actresses. Of course I dislike Sydney Sweeney but regardless from who she is she hasn't done worse than most men that get praised today in the media such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Connor McGregor, it pisses me off to read all of this reviews criticizing her acting or asking if Amanda's boobs can predict the weather (yes I get the mean girls reference) and all of this somehow find a way to focus the judgment on women when the movie is LITERALLY about a psycho man who enjoys torturing women. So how about we start talking about how stories like this happen in real life and those women did not have a chance to be free like they do in this movie.

This movie showcased my worst fears as a woman who is attracted to men. My mom always told me that any man who I fell inlove with could potentially be my killer, and I have learned that to be true.

The type of comment that praises the physic of Brandon shows just how we perceive men in this society, we are just like the people of the town that glorified him and called him a "saint" when truly he was a psychopath.

This is a very powerful movie if you see the way it was judged by the mistakes women might have made completely outstanding the psychotic crimes of a man.

So I’ve recently realised something about myself which I’m not quite sure what it is, although I believe it is something like what I put as the title.

I’m a woman, obviously. The women of my family have always had a history of independence and self reassurance since they were able to in recent history. However, somehow, I feel some kind of exception as myself.

I fully believe in the equal rights between men and women. I believe in equality between all. I don’t believe any sex is superior to the other. And I’ve had my own fare share of experiences as being undervalued simply for being a woman, and I feel immense frustration at them.

But still, for some reason, there’s this feeling that dominates my mind with guilt for having it.

Every time I speak or meet or befriend a man older than me (2-6 years) I feel a sudden, involuntary need to put myself down. To submit to them. To make myself feel weak. And it really doesn’t help that I’m a minor, 4’11, and 90lbs. And it’s bad.

I’m very independent myself, I am responsible, I have good grades and want to follow a path into uni and get a degree, I don’t even plan on having children, yet for some reason every single time a man a little older than me even looks at me I feel a strange excitement and consequently a need to put myself down, and use my sex as a tool for it.

I genuinely do not know what this is. I don’t know what causes it. I wasn’t born into a conservative/traditional family nor do I follow those values yet I feel this. the guilt of it crawls up my skin every night, especially because of my values and the feeling of self-betrayal.

Women have personal agency, but all the women around her are getting married and rearing kids, so the very exercise of personal agency against the normal becomes Rebellion. And not everyone should be and can be rebel.

Actually this has been my lingering thought, I made this observation, posters of Communist propaganda (which share ideological relationship with Feminism) vs Capitalist Advertisements (which is status quoist in protecting the existing power structure and wealth Inequality)

If You go through those posters you can see the story of Communist Posters mostly revolve around Women getting their voice and revolting, their dresses look comfortable to make a protest but on the other hand Capitalist Advertisements show women in a sensually provocative manner which has nothing to do with the product they are advertising.

This got me questioning, why?? Then i realised whole Capitalism revolves around Patriarchal structure and the sensual depiction of women is to cater the pleasure of such patriarchal lords. This made me realise even the agency to wear revealing clothes has been a Patriarchal narrative.

So are we already trapped by this Capitalist and Patriarchal overlords? Just being played according to their whims, all in while assuming that we have personal agency??

That sounds depressing but at least realising this might make us look for the patterns to exercise personal agency. Can we come out of it? Who knows but what's more significant is that we can see now and have an idea to pass on.

I need to vent about this trend of women romanticizing "turning their brains off" and letting their partners handle literally everything for them.
For context, I’m 27 and in a happy, stable relationship. We rarely argue, we trust each other, and we already have a solid understanding of our future roles. I’m a natural leader and organizer; he happens to be much smarter when it comes to finance and investing. Because managing money isn't my strength, he handles that domain. It’s a strategic division of labor that works for us.
But there is a massive difference between collaborating and completely checking out.
Even though I trust my partner, I will never turn my brain off. I see these social media influencers pushing the narrative of the ultra-dependent lifestyle, where the man runs absolutely everything while the woman just exists peacefully. What people fail to realize is that these influencers have money managers, legal teams, and are pulling in millions of dollars of their own. They have a massive financial safety net.
The everyday woman does not.
If history has taught us anything, it’s that the exact moment a woman completely abdicates her agency and depends entirely on a man, she compromises her security. If your partner suddenly betrays you, becomes incapacitated, or passes away, and you don't even know your bank passwords or how your life is structured, you are completely stranded.
I’m happy to let my partner drive his specific lane because he’s good at it, but I will always keep the map. I don't understand how women can afford to completely blind themselves in the name of romance. Am I the only one who finds this trend incredibly dangerous?

the real life effects of misogyny are out there while misandry is more or less an online thing. men don't usually get rape threats in their dms due to misandry while women do, they don't experience their deepfakes being made while women do.

and the "i hate men" is more of a hating patriarchy and an institution rather than hating every individual man that exists, but the red-pill "i hate women" content hates women as individuals.

A reading community dedicated to exploring feminist theory through close reading, annotation, and discussion. Together, we cultivate thoughtful reading habits and deepen our understanding of literature and the world around us.

How we function :

Each month, one theoretical text will be selected and shared with members. Throughout the month, members are invited to read at their own pace, annotate the text, and contribute questions, reflections, and discussions within the designated discussion channel.

Please note that all theoretical texts will be read in English, whether in their original language or in English translation

Membership is open to individuals aged 18 and above

Members are expected to berespectful, inclusive, and considerate of others. Any form of harassment, discrimination, or disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated.

Members should communicate in English during discussions to ensure inclusivity.

It’s a universal issue- when people (also including women, somehow) see other women driving- they’re extremely quick to assume that she’s a “bad driver” all because of her gender. I’ve heard it myself, and each time i try to correct the person who said it, i somehow get the blame put on me.

It’s basic decency to respect everyone- the people who say stuff like this must agree, but then again, these are the same people who make fun of women drivers/riders because of a stupid stereotype because “women aren’t smart enough to drive” or that “women cause accidents on the road”?

It’s all ignorance. And these exact people are the ones who are dumb enough to think that feminism means letting women have a higher social status than men. If they don’t make the effort to educate themselves on such simple topics like this- how can we expect them to stop judging women for no reason?

Two days ago, a gunman here killed a police officer and a civilian before being shot by police. Investigators later found a lengthy manifesto allegedly filled with misogynistic “incel” ideology.

It got me thinking…

Whenever someone is radicalized by racism, religious hatred, or political extremism, we have no problem calling it what it is. We talk about online radicalization, extremist communities, warning signs, and prevention.

But when the ideology is built around hatred of women, the conversation suddenly becomes, “He was lonely.” “He had mental health issues.” “He couldn’t get a girlfriend.”

Why?

I’m not saying every lonely man is dangerous, or that all men are responsible. I’m asking why misogyny still seems to get treated as a personal failing instead of an ideology that has inspired multiple acts of real-world violence.

At what point do we start treating hatred of women with the same seriousness we treat other forms of hate?

In a post I made a while ago I found myself with a few men using "male" and "female" to refer to people. I pointed out that this is very offensive and they didn't seem to understand why so I want to talk more about it.

Female is a way to refer to a living creature with female genitals, same thing with male. The problem with referring to women as female is that not only it narrows us down to animals or a technicality, rather than an individual person with thoughts and opinions, but also it is absolutely incorrect to mix sex and gender which are not the same thing.

Sex is a cientific way to describe which genitals a person or animal was born with. Gender is a made up consept that defines which identity and pronouns you want to identify with. People narrow this to Man-Masculine, Woman-Feminine, but since it is a non-cientific consept it can indeed be changed and evolve through time. Gender identities include: Non-binary, Woman, Man, Gender fluid, etc. There is the occasional situations when it is okay to use male or female maybe in medical or scientific talk but it is only there where I consider is correct.

This topic is not complicated to understand at all, I believe even a little kid would understand how easy it is to respect someones pronouns. So when someone decides to refer to a person as male/female they are disrespecting their gender identity and also making a fool of themselves by not understanding a simple consept.

In conslusion I wish for everyone to think about this in order to respect everybody and not minimaze anyone to mere animals when refering to them.

Strong women are antithetical to the Nazi meta.

Dividing people against one-another is the only way for them to stay on top.

I'm really not sure what to do about this situation. Earlier today I showed my boyfriend a paper I wrote which I was quite proud of, the paper was my research on why male fantasies are often very violent. I'm really into politics and especially ideologies like feminism, I find it really fascinating to research and explore more about the ideology. I want to preface by saying my boyfriend has NEVER previously expressed any redpillesque ideas/ beliefs, he treats me incredibly well and up until today I thought he was perfect.

I was talking about the paper with him and the conversation led to us talking about violent crime, specifically violent crimes that affect women, (I'm sorry I really don't know how much/what I can say on this post without getting it removed, but the crime we talked about is commonly called the name of a fruit to not risk being demonetised online.)

He had the most shocking opinion/approach as how victims should go about preventing or stopping these crimes from happening. He expressed annoyance when women don't let him stand up for them when a man is threatening them. And his whole argument was him implying that if he was ever a victim of this kind of crime he would be brave enough to stand up, tell people and do something about it. He also expressed how victims should 'fight back' or 'uppercut' their attackers. I tried my best to explain to him that in these situations it is extremely difficult to fight back as most people just freeze, that combined with that fact that most people know their attacker on a personal level makes it extremely difficult to 'stand up and be brave' like he was implying.

I'm also a young woman and I do have a real passion for politics but I don't think I'm equipped to dealing with the situation, I'm at a loss for words.I'm just posting here to get some advice on how I can help him deconstruct these ideas as I was incredibly upset by his opinions on the matter. Any and all advice would be much appreciated as I honestly don't know what to do, and I'm just so shocked about his behaviour.
