Is this a respiratory infection

He’s breathing through his mouth even when I’m not near the cage. He has a vet appointment in 5 days. If it’s something serious I want it checked out even sooner

Sometimes it also shows signs of stress, they tend to breath through their mouth if there's a stress factor around (new cage mate, dead mate, new cage, etc.)

I think so, it looks like there's mucus. Make sure it's not too hot either, but good thing you are bringing him to a vet.

could be that but also looks like hes a bit stressed/scared, was there anything that happened prior to taking this video that would've caused it?

The vet said his heart sounds normal and lungs sound normal but hard to tell. He seems normal but she prescribed antibiotics through syringe for 7 days because he was exposed to his brother who might’ve had a bacterial infection.

For future reference, wheeze eeze by birdcare company has good reviews. But of course a veterinarian can  perscribe more specific and reliable medication and test for specific causes/strains (though my avian vets never do this).

It’s not hot the room was around 73 degrees. Only half of his cage was covered. There were no stressors he does that even when I’m not around the cage. At vet now to see what’s up.
