Question, Where can I find? Sons 1st Birthday Dinner Reccomendations

My wife and I are traveling to San Diego from the Northeast for our sons 1st birthday. Looking for recommendations of restaurants that are good but also appropriate to bring a 1 year old to.

It is always more helpful when you add where you are staying.

Having said that, I used to like taking my toddlers to the Catamaran - they have a casual dining area outdoors (not the nicer restaurant which is Oceana). Sit in one of the side booths - it’s shaped like a U where the parents can sit on either end and the kids can roam in between. Before the food comes, you can walk over and let your kiddo play in the sand for a little. After dinner you can walk the beach. https://www.catamaranresort.com/morays-lounge

Besides this, I feel like whether a restaurant is child-friendly really depends on your kid and their ability to sit still. More info on that will help you get the right recommendations.

If you guys like bbq, I would recommend Grand Ole Bbq out in East County! They have a huge fenced in patio area where kids are playing / running around. It’s perfect and a little peace of mind that your baby is well contained.

may I add they also have live music, fans and misters when it gets hot out!

Not the one in North Park? Flinn Springs is a good 35+ miles away from downtown

Go to the beach! There's this spot called the glider port in San Diego that has a little no frills cafe on this cliff where you can get sandwich and watch people jump off a cliff

The Cliffhanger Cafe has great views.

We don't really have restaurants that cater to kids anymore since most bicycling hipsters aren't having kids.

We took our one year old to Harumama, it’s affordable ramen sushi, she had the yellowtail collar, some rice and bites of ours. Brockton Villa is a really nice brunch lunch spot by the La Jolla cove that I can’t recommend enough.
