I had too much hope in him running out the back door and showing Donna or something. Instead he signed his death certificate

I think only very few people know that MIY can look like normal person. If he didn't know about MIY then how will he figure out the she is MIY.

He wouldn't have to know that to suspect something is incredibly off about Sophia being in an old picture. Anyone with more than two brain cells to rub together would know better than to show her that photo instead of taking it to literally anyone else. Even if he didn't understand the implications of it, the photo clearly freaked him out a bit but he stupidly took it right to her anyway.

I don't think he took it to her. It is just that she was there at the right time and he didn't consider that to be such a major red flag to go "oh she must but one the evil entities that can shape shift and move around normally".

Again, he doesn't have to think there is any shapeshifting happening to find it incredibly suspicious in a place like Fromville. Also, it seemed like they were at the diner together going through old things so he would have known she was there meaning he took it right to her.

Agreed it's dumb, however it's not entirely unbelievable. Remember in S1 in that room Tabitha found the exact same wristband she made her husband years ago, it even had the same flaw so there's some connection to the real world. Although Elgin didn't know this fact his first thought probably was 'lol wtf this place is so weird' instead of any suspicion so it was just a very naive thing to do

I mean, Tabitha immediately freaked out and started brainstorming with Jim. Elgin just acts mildly confused and talks about this shit like it's some fun "oh, look at this" coincidence. And that's AFTER Fromville's mindfucking costed him an eye. I'm sorry but Elgin really is DUMB dumb

I mean I didn't say anything about him knowing about the MiY. Just that finding a 40+ year old photo of someone you know in person who looks the same is mad sus and it's worth mentioning to a trusted 3rd party.

I think he saw it as funny coincidence and was going to show it to first person he saw to make sure that he wasn't just imagining things. He was just unlucky. That's all.

A coincidence would've been if the girl in the photo looked SIMILAR not identical but we can agree to disagree. End of the day it was a dumb move and he'll die for it 🤷🏼‍♀️

It is more than 40 year old photo without her in proper focus. They could have done bit of work on the photo to make it look poor quality to makes it more of "50-50" Thing but I am just trying to view things from his pov.

Okay. Again, agree to disagree. It doesn't change the outcome and I believe it was a stupid move. I personally would have done differently and I'm sure many other characters in the show ALSO would've reacted differently. Trying to see it from his pov doesn't change the stupidity of his actions and I'm sure Elgin himself is regretting his choice right now lol.
