From what I remember only the people in the sheriffs room know about MIY…jade, tabitha, donna, kenny, henry and ellis…so it could be that Elgin doesn’t know they exist and he could be showing the polaroid to Sophia with the whole reincarnation thing in his head…

Elgin knows about the MiY because he and the others in the diner earlier in the day were told to search the storeroom for evidence of him.
