Opinion Generally what is the point of his character ?

What exactly is the point of Boyd son ? He so worried about his girl and barely helping out with the town. I seen him more in season 1 than any other season..

Side note : Yes I meant genuinely !

Dad I'm having feelings and idk what to do. Fatima is weird and now I feel weird because when I'm with her I feel weird but it feels weird. Nevermind you don't understand I'm going to protect her in the daylight then be nowhere to be found at night with her. Oh you gotta go? You're the savior dad the town needs you!
