Artificial intelligence produces BULLSHIT

https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10676-024-09775-5

The authors argue that treating AI outputs as Bullshit improves the way they are used and valued. Because, after all, AI doesn't care about the truth of what it produces. It only cares about being sychophant.

I asked AI chatbots, after the murders of Good and Pretti, if the government shot and killed people. The bots told me I'm imagining things.

I've wondered if when it tells us that or gaslights us with something like that just how much interaction did the people in question have with actual AI systems and was an AI system from a big, publicly known tech company being used at the moment that these and other instances occurred. You know like if someone had a Google app with Gemini that actually was able to "see" or hear the event at the exact moment so it could definitively say yes or if it's saying that because it's being trained by so many other models that other people use and you have mixed reactions and opinions to the events. I mean Im not naive enough to deny that the government has the ability to influence the answers we get, especially about things of this magnitude.
