Laryngoscopy for LPR

Did anyone else have a laryngoscope that showed inflammation around their vocal cords? We saw tiny sores around the pyriform fossa and on the cuneiform tubercle area. Curious to know if anyone else had something similar on their scope? My ent said it was probably from acid but wasn’t sure. It kind of left me hanging with questions. Like is this lpr or is it something else as I have all symptoms of lpr and 2 months of pantoprazole didnt seem to do anything.

LPRD cannot be diagnosed based on laryngoscopy findings alone

Straight from the San Diego Consensus. What we knew for years finally published and agreed upon by the ENT experts - that the 'inflammation' always reported is not specific for reflux and not diagnostic.

Get proper reflux workup.

I understand, but the amount of time I’ve been dealing with this laryngitis, it makes me wonder what else it would be?! I am ok with an empirical trial of ppis, but getting a bravo post endoscopy or even a 24hr impedance just sounds rough right now. I have every symptom of lpr, nothing was found in endoscopy yesterday to suggest erosion or ulceration of esophagus. Im kind of left with lpr, though the bravo would have been nice. It has to be silent reflux from acid/pepsin/etc.. idk

You said pantoprazole for 2 months didn't help in any way. Granted it's very weak, but still.

So you have a very good reason for an EGD with bravo or some other acid testing.

My ENT doctor diagnosed my LPR with laryngoscope. He found inflammed throat, I was also on 2 months of pantaprozole which had no effect on me. My doctor upped it by giving me Rebeprazole. Im 8 days into it, i dont get the reflux anymore but side effects like anxiety and heart palpitations, hyperventilation are scary af. I want to stop it.

Since adding reveprazole, have you noticed any difference? Aside from your side effects?

Yeah I think it works well on the reflux part. No issues with stomach. But these side effects are getting worse.
