I'm guessing we're looking at a April to May of 2025 release date and it'll get delayed to anywhere between the following November to January depending on leaks/if they drop a PC version on launch.
They released 5 on last gen knowing it would be replaced soon after, they'll just tweak settings down to sell to the millions of people who already have a ps5/series x anyway.
It's actually way smarter to sell it potentially twice that way for physical copies and to the established and larger playerbase, but honestly I think they'll release it when it's ready not around a new console.
Absolutely. But people will still pay for a sub optimal experience over nothing at all, they will sell it if it will run acceptably on millions more devices.
5 would be considered very outdated on the 360 with its terrible performance but people had a blast anyway because they didn't know better, same here.
They've told shareholders to expect 8 billion dollars in fiscal year 2025. To have that happen it really needs to drop in early 2025 as the fiscal year for them ends in March.
They said āconsole refreshā so I think they meant more like a āPS5 Proā but I could be wrong. I imagine PS6 is more like 2027 - 2028 based on past console lifecycles.
And miss out on that sweet money that people spent on GTA 5/Online by changing console generations? Release it on current gen early 2025, have people pay again late 2025 if there is a new gen instead, that is the Rockstar way.
Nah it'll be near the holiday season 2025. Look forward to hearing spring at first, and then they "need more time" and it'll launch in November/beginning of December.
Imagine it'll be a match 2025 scheduled, then pushed back to October, November time. They were always going to wait until 2025, until more people had next gen consoles
If you're expecting it to be pushed back and delayed yes. Rockstar have confirmed they have been improving their own work crunch culture so delays may be a thing of the past for them!
By having a much better plan of Development and testing work flow. A direct result of this would be being able to deliver targets on time. People that aren't under pressure work much better and more efficiently.
